I gave $50 for that one from an old school teacher of mine who is a blacksmith. It's an old English anvil. The weight is stamped in it using the English hundred weight system. That one is 197 lbs.

 

Yup you don't find anvils like that anymore. You can take a large ball bearing and drop it on the face of it from 18" high, and it will come right back in your hand. Most of them made now won't do that. It makes hammering iron much easier with the recoil.

 

I have another one that was my grandfathers. The corner is gone from when on the 4th of July they would "blow the anvil". They packed to much gunpowder in the square hole and it blew the corner off it. It must have been fractured before. But the other anvil would go in the air 50-75 feet.

 

I really like that Coca-cola cooler. Almost got me an upright one this summer. Still on the lookout for one.

 

Yup that's one of the old ones that takes ice, and has the front brass spigot to drain the water. There is a place in the back to store 4 wooden cases of bottles.

 

You are really going to hate this then! An old man I knew for years gave it to me.
