I've never heard of it being a regional thing, but to be honest you could be right

 

oh i know, when i lived there i went to a hole in the wall place outside Sacramento and this huge black guy took my order and was literally one of the best steak sandwiches i've ever had...i miss the food in Cali but thats about it, i wish the south ( which is supposed to known for its food, which by the way is not that great, most places you go unless you have money coming out of your ears) had food choices like Cali does... all you get is "southern cooking" (i'll pass) or some standard burger places or chicken, not much choice unless you want to drive 2+ hrs just to eat

I see a lot of Cali people bringing this up here, its where I first heard of it. Being stationed in Texas it was brisket
