    The collar ties are in the top third of the rafter and look to be added to the underside of the timber rafters , hard to see what connection is there but there is no ridge beam and if there is no other crossing beams the structure is relying on those short collar ties to resist the beams from thrusting outward under roof loading

    That, I honestly don't know. I know permits were pulled and I assume inspections were done. But I guess they'll get that all hammered out in the following days.

    They would have been better off to put plates on the outside of the crossbeam not those single bolts...The beams look strong enough just the attachment looks weak
