    He told me before thanksgiving that he’d still be there by Easter. I laughed in his face and said New Year’s Day. He’s been running this scam all over St. Clair county Illinois- home of East St. Louis and other fine communities - and there are heaps of protections for squatters. There were too many judgements against him and his wife there so they loaded up and headed out to new territory. He was betting on those protections being the same in this county and that was where he was wrong. It’s a huge county but it’s mostly seed farmers and they are all kin or friends and they don’t play with deadbeats.

    Had him in court for the last time on the 18th and the judge caught him up to speed. Wrote out the eviction for the 29th and his attorney/counselor told him to ignore it as they won’t throw people on the street between Christmas and Valentine’s Day. Turned up and he’s at the door with a shit eating grin and then I step aside and my fishing buddy and ho happens to be a Sherrif’s Deputy gives him the official language version of “fuck off.”

    While he’s shoving all of his shit in the van I’m calling every American Legion and VFW around and informing them that a liar claiming to be a disabled vet is scamming people and abusing their kindness. Fired a copy of his real DD-214 off to a few that wanted proof. The boiling rage face with steam coming out of the ears you saw in comics is real. Those weaklings decrimilized stolen valor but I’ll never go soft on those types.

    I like icing, but I worked in a commercial bakery in a supermarket. I know how much crap goes into the icing. That "buttercream" always leaves a waxy taste on my tongue.
