    My neighbor has one in his driveway. Not sure what year it is. It belongs to a relative who "is going to fix it up one day", but it has been sitting there, not touched or moved, for the 18 or so years I've been here. Just slowly rusting away. I've asked many times about buying it but there is no interest in selling. They have a note taped on the glass saying Not For Sale as they get so many people knocking.

    One of these days I guess the guy will pass away and the family will sell it, but there might not be much left by then. One time the neighbor let me look inside- rats had gotten in and shit over everything. I imagine all the wiring and anything not made of metal needs to be ripped out and replaced. I don't know what year it is. Can anyone tell from the pic?

    Yep, we had a yellow 72 with the same intention of fixing it up. It looks exactly like that one. I had it running for a summer. Not sure why my dad let it set after that. We moved it to my bro in laws to fix it up. We stripped it to the frame and found the tub had rusted in half. It's hard to replace that. Ended up scrapping it all. I still see a few around but not like we used to.

    They were made in Indiana and heaps of them made their way to southern Illinois here. Many suffered the rust rot fate sadly but you see quite a few on the road here. Neighbor has a “Spirit of ‘76” edition that is really like to get off of him.
