    I noticed some bubbling on the outer wall of the quarter panel...very small bubbles and I just found the culprit.

    Sand / dirt accumulated over time...rain gets in it..moisture eats the inner wall if panel = FML :D

    All vehicles seem to have dirt traps somewhere unfortunately. Tacomas also have the top of the bump stop pad in the rear. My dad's Subaru has a rear suspension part (not sure what it's called) that was 100 percent filled with dirt when we removed it.
