    No, I’m just an idiot

“Need some help because I'm a real dummy. I was running my bike for a bit in the garage since I hadn't started it in a while and I forgot I had some packing materials (bubble wrap in a garbage bag) next to my bike. Before I could walk back in the garage and realize, it had melted some of the plastic to the headers of my bike. I tried some baking soda and water paste with a toothbrush and it got some of the lighter stuff off but not the heavy parts. Not sure what to use to clean it now. Scotch brite then metal polish? I believe they are stainless steel.“

    Coke?
    Barkeepers Friend?

just throwing ideas out there... I know people say Coke can polish chrome due to the acidity. Barkeepers works wonders on stainless steel cookware but it is abrasive. :notsure:

Very mild hydrochloric acid paste made from vinegar and baking soda? I’ve used it to polish old brass and copper and it worked wonders on that.

I tried baking soda and water paste, didn’t try vinegar yet. Some ppl in M/C thread suggested oven cleaner or possibly 0000 steel wool. Gonna try some of the less aggressive tactics first in small areas. Thanks all
