I need a suggestion for a reliable dealer in south San Diego County, I am in a hotel in Chula Vista, waiting to get a tow to a service center. Here is the short story ...

I have been a lerker since I bought my 2009 Tacoma TRD 4X4 offroad package- - I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I have just over 20,000 on my truck, and drive off-road regulalry in the Mojave. Yesterday May 12 I was off-roading out of a Wash in Baja where I had been for 5 days. It is about 5 miles south of Catavina. Yesterday morning at 4:00 AM; I was preparing to come back stateside.

While driving to the main highway, I am pretty sure something broke in the rear end. The car was bucking and the lovely sounds of gears grinding was coming from the rear differential, but it would drive. I had to carefully drive to Catavina to get to a phone. I was towed to San Quintin, rear end up, front drive shaft disconnected, Then the drive shaft was reconnected and placed on a ramp truck for a drive to the border crossing.

I had to drive accross and at 11:30 PM picked a place to stay. I know there are dealerships close by here and I am sure this will be a warrenty service. Is there any place reccomended?

Saw this as I was going on base . Yota land cruiser

 

Installed a latch lock on my bed storage box. Was surprised that the box it self was fiberglass.

That's a good idea. And thanks, I just wish I could get them clean now!! Had a spray paint can go off on me and I look like a dalmation! Oh, and I'm not the only girl on here getting dirty, one fabbed up her own retro grille!

you may be stuck with whichever dealership is closest at that point...

if you are willing to come out of pocket, but want to get it done right, i would look into taking it to an offroad shop that works on yotas down in that area....

im sure the SD heads could chime in with a suggestion...

if not, you could trailer that rig up here to Pomona to our shop and we could take a look at it...

is it just the driveshafts or carrier bearing that dumped or did you actually blow up the diffs?
