    I don't think you really want to do that... It would be nice to have it up high, but you may be better off having a hose that goes next to it. Reason being is the negative pressure that the intake would create you may actually cause water to get into the diff. Think of it this way, you would rather have oil leaking past the seals. When you hit water, you will be cooling the diff and that could cause a lower pressure inside the diff causing water to be pulled in to the diff through the seals. Now if you have the negative pressure on the diff you could cause the same condition. Good thought but I think it could be done in other ways.

    I gotta be perfectly honest... that doesn't make any sense. With the amount of torque the diff has bolted together coupled with the seals it has on it... the amount of air that can even travel through the tiny opening... let alone the extremely long travel from the rear diff to the intake, and the intake's fairly low velocity on these engines... I just completely fail to see any possibility of how water would get pulled in through seals unless they were loose to start with? As long as the oil is lubricating properly the diff shouldn't even get all that hot to start with unless it's under some serious stress... even then....

    Anyway it sounds good I just... don't see that as even being a remote possibility of an issue in this application.


    After thinking about it some more... the only potential issue I can foresee would be the intake actually trying to suck the diff fluid into the intake... and even that would be a huge stretch...
