    I'm not worried about reception since I never listen to FM radio. I wanted a shorter antenna but not the billet looking type. I may even Plastidip this thing!

    Yeah, there is still reception...I tested a couple channels and they came in fine. Prior to this antenna I had the stock antenna but cut down level to the cab height.

    I had a 1500 rental last year also, noticed the improved MPG over my 2002 1500 which was getting 13mpg, so i traded it for my taco, only getting 17.7mpg. But I am happier in the end.
