I agree. We test drove audi, lexus, bmw, and cadillac before buying this car. It is just flat out awesome on technology and feel of the drive. It has so many bells and whistles. Radar out the sides to tell you if there is someone in your blind spots. Cross traffic alert when backing out of a parking space. Hell the GPS tells you the speed limit of the street you are on. Iphone syncs up while in my pocket and streams via bluetooth. Keys stay in the pocket, just walk up and grab the handle and the door unlocks. Stock with 22's. I dont know what shape all this will be in in about 10 years nor do I care. We usually turn our cars every 3-4 years.

That's the problem. No one holds onto cars long anymore. Cars are just a disposable item that you have until the shine wears off and then you discard without really being worried about the amount of money you just lost on a major investment.

I'm not a complete fan boy though. That rig you have above is beautiful. I would just like to see Ford get their stuff working better long-term.

Getting out of the rental car business would help american car companies in the long run too. Stop fleet sales, it just kills your brand image and resale value. Leave the rental biz to Hyundai and Kia :D

Sounds like you got a lemon. While people hate on the modern Toyotas saying "They aren't built like they used to be," the fact is that Toyota has never been 100% free of flaws. But that doesn't mean their stuff isn't still worth a lot when you go to resell it. The engines are reliable and well built. Transmissions hold up really well under normal loads. And materials used still look good 10 years later.

Look up a decently cared for 1999 4runner or Tacoma and then find yourself a 1999 Explorer or Ranger. Tell me which you would buy.

OR if you want to talk more modern (since everyone thinks Toyota has taken a shit) find a 2005 Tacoma and put it next to a 2005 Ranger. I bet you'll still want the Toyota more.

3.7l v6 from the mustang. Be prepared. These things aren't cheap anymore. As it sits here, we're talking $45k.

I think all the fords went up didn't they? When i was replacing my 06 Tacoma with another vehicle (glad I got another Taco) I looked at and test drove the ecoboost f150 and loved it but with the options it had on it, I don't love the price tag. Definitely worth it IMO but out of my price range. The truck was like almost 50k. Lol
