    our thermometer about 4' from the woodstove has hit 109* before:eek:

    Furnace hasn't run in about 3 years.

    Yeah, room with stove will break 100* every time . Electric heat in house, so I don't use it ever. That's the temp of the bedrooms on other side of the house and on 2nd level. Stove is on first level. 1 vent floor of hallway and 1 in floor of living room directly above stove, circulates air efficiently enough with central stairwell main volume of air, where if there is smoke in the house, you can see warm current coming up and cool going down.

    Nice, yeah one stove does the job for us as well. Costs maybe 5 hours of time and $5 in fuel per year.

    Haha nice, and to get it started, some kindling ( sticks n scraps from splitting process) and I sometimes use brown cardboard, but I use a plumbing torch ( portable tank) to start it. Can't seem to find little firestarter bricks anywhere this year
