    Hey Jerry,

I was at the forest service today getting my firewood cutting permits and came across the attached doc on road closures. With that in mind, I'm not so sure the dirt roads are a good idea now. They were supposed to be open on May 1, but that's now extended to May 13.:( Notice the doc is dated yesterday.

As I said before, the roads up there don't have gates, but I have no idea what the fines are if caught on them.

The signs they had there said it didn't apply to the Rock Creek Rec area because it has its own rules. Should we call them and ask?

I just called and they're following the EDNF schedule, so May 13 for them too. He said the Rock Creek OHV area is open, but he confirmed it's only for motorcycles and quads (something someone posted here earlier too).

So if we're sticking to pavement only, do you guys still want to do MET? There are 2 paved roads that go out different directions. The first one is Bonetti road which crosses camp creek and runs all the way to capps crossing rd. (don't look at google maps because they've got all these roads that connect shown as dead ends)

Yep, paved roads it is then. We won't make it to Hwy 88 on MET because of gates above the 7K foot level and because the snow will likely be 10 feet deep up there. But maybe we'll hang a right on capps crossing and see how far we can go. That one does go to Hwy 88, but it's a long way over there. We'll just have to see what the conditions are. At least I know all the roads pretty well since I travel all over them during the summer/fall months.

I still think we might want to try Bonetti Rd because it will probably still have snow on it. Shoot, maybe we'll hang a right on capps crossing and come back on bonetti. That end of bonetti is almost dirt anyway, but it's still technically a paved road so I bet that one is legal.:D It's a great drive in the fall when the trees change colors (see attached pic from November).
