I might go skate tomorrow morning, but we'll see. I need to start wearing knee and elbow pads. I hate the idea of it but I have perma lumps on my left elbow and left knee from concrete slams. Being 27 I fear what my joints will be like in twenty years.

I'm way too sketchy of a skater to NOT wear full pads now.

    Full dad-pad action, WOOOO!!!!1!

Helps that I'm fat and have a full beard to really scare all the groms away from me.

On another note, I have the other Natas reissue that I got a few months back and it's fucking sweeeeeet. The metallic fleck ink they used turned out so awesome.
I'm getting a boner just thinking about the kitten coming in and being able to be hung next to the other previous one.

And yes, I did already get in on the "psycho cat" release that's dropping later this Summer. I'm going to put them all up in my bedroom as the Natas trifecta.

Still young but wishing I started wearing pads and a helmet years ago. A few months back I was doing a B/S 5.0 grind in a ~13 foot pool and when I was coming back in my trucks hung up on the coping and fell 13 feet to my head. Massive hematoma formed within seconds and was rushed to the hospital minutes after. Dealt with vision and speech issues for a few weeks and one massive concussion, but all is good now, just an occasional migraine. Lucky to have walked away from that one.

Be safe people, skateboarding can go wrong quick

Dude, you have to get a helmet from here on out. Next head bonk... Just get a helmet.

I started wearing a helmet after I had my first kid, 10 years ago.

I've had a few "minor" concussions but there have been two occasions since i started wearing one I'd probably be a permanent veggie if I hadn't had one.
Once was rolling in to a bowl into the shade, didn't judge how fast I was going and landed pretty much all the way down in the flat. Went right to my head/shoulder and got my bell rung WITH the helmet.
Big mark on it. Threw it away and got a new one before the next session.

I hate wearing the helmet when I'm skating, don't get me wrong. Sweaty, hot and I feel like a dork but I've been convinced it's all worth it just like seat belts.
Better to have one and not need it than need one and... Dead.

I refuse to wear wrist guards though. I better go find some wood to knock on...

I feel you man, scary stuff. Im a little late to the game, have had 12 concussions in my life so far and have split/cracked my head open going on 5 times already... No good. Should have considered the long term consequences years ago but every time I have been able to walk away. Only 20, so I must have still been in the phase where I thought I was invincible. This last experience really shook me up though seeing as it caused problems with my vision, for days I had blurry vision and black dots all over. Definitely going to be more responsible going forward.

The ironic thing is the only time I've *EVER* been actually knocked the fuck out was snowboarding.
Mt. Bachelor (Oregon), icy morning, didn't speedcheck before hitting a big kicker, panicked at the top and flipped over onto my head from 12+ feet at least.

All I remember after hitting the top of the jump was looking up and seeing the ground coming at me.
Woke up on my back, wind knocked out of me and loopy as fuck. I totally shredded my shoulder but stupid high school me never pressed my parents enough to go to the doc.

My left shoulder is permanently FUBAR but it was insane to wake up on my back not knowing where the fuck I was for a few seconds.
I'm lucking I didn't break my neck on that shit.

Now a days I get hurt when my alarm startles me and I jerk over to turn it off and throw out my back.

Being old, sucks. Being an old skater... We're all massive physical wrecks.

/still need to go skate this weekend...! Just have to avoid being too hung over in the mornings :anonymous:

    Fuck, I wish!

They are a pretty legit design company though. Found them because I think it was @ODNAREM who posted the link when they had the smokey patch?
Working for a design firm like Lincoln was one of the original goals I had when I went to design school at the Art Institute of Portland. The competition to get into one of those places in the PacNW is crazy tough, though.

    Fuck yeah, man!

Just posted in there. Incidentally, I'm going to see Iron Maiden when they play here in Phoenix next month. Super stoked because the last time I saw them was almost 10 years ago.
Bruce really had taken amazing care of his voice and sounds just as good as he did 30 years ago...

    Fuck yeah, Pushead graphics, FTW!

Legit collection, for sure. I had to stop trying to get boards once I got my truck, a bit more expensive of a habit... :anonymous:

I know about AoS and SnB. I used to be really active on skateboarding forums a few years ago but more for active skating and less the collectable aspect.
Nowadays I'm looking at my skateboard more than riding it, sadly.

Got too drunk last night with the new girlfriend and stayed up WAAAAY too late at her place. Only just now feeling normal again.
We had... lots of "fun" after we got back from the bar.

Planning on just taking it easy and chilling tonight. Should be in a much better frame of mind tomorrow to at least go down the road to the nearest park in Gilbert, AZ.

It's a bit of a scooter heaven but they hardly every go in the bowls and once they see me hauling ass around the park they generally keep a lookout to stay out of my way.:burnrubber:

I wish I could skate more these days but at 48 I get hurt easily. I still try to skate every week though. Yeah Brian (Pushead) is the shit. My break-out will always be my favorite. Jeff gave it to me on my 15th birthday. Miss that dude.

You knew Jeff Phillips?!? Fucking legend that skateboarding has been missing for a long time. That's definitely a keeper for obvious reasons.
