ok so ill join in here out of sheer interest. my roommate was saying something about he may be able to share some of his library of games with me? do yall know anything about that? I don't have steam yet, but reading this thread has piqued my interest.

I believe you have to login to his account in order to access his games.

 

That's what I'm thinking too.
There may be a limit on how many active machines can hold the games too

 

People have mentioned not to do it because Steam might see different IPs logged in quick succession and possibly ban but I call bullshit x99999.

 

I boot up and autologin to Steam then connect with VPN. No issues so far.

You can have games on as many computer as you like. But you can only be logged into one at a time.

Thanks guys. I didn't know if it was like Netflix or one of those where you can have up to a couple of people using the same account.

 

My Netflix account is such a whore. I think it's used by 7-8 people.

 

Don't get me started on the Plex account I use....

 

Netflix caught on but thankfully they are nice about it.

They limit to how many people can stream at once. Think the base is 3 people. Then you can pay a bit more for 5 people.

 

I was going to go with plex. But my synology server had their own system built in. It's used by only a handful of people for offsite streaming.

 

I cancelled my cable once I got Plex. Now all I do is watch Plex and hockey.

 

I have a roku. And all I do is binge watch what's on the server, netflix, or B-movie TV
