It's also funny sense so many kids hop on game chats to brag up 10 series cards. Odds are most of them are running 700 series nVidia cards or 200 series AMD cards at best in used Sandybridge rigs.

I wouldn't guess there's a whole lot of steam games that require a 10 series card.

Nothing except 4k really needs a 10 series card. You could argue their hasn't been a necessary need to have upgrade in Video cards since the early 2000s.

My point was more that a lot of people either claim to own or want new cards when reality is they make up a very minor percentage of the market right now so their influence on pushing up system requirements isn't very high.

 

When I ran Assetto Corsa on my 2k, the picture was really crisp, clear and the colors were nice. But its really hard to race on a 27in screen. I had to pull the monitor up about half an arms length.

When I moved up to a 40in 1080p tv...it was what I thought was near perfect. Dimensions of the dashboards of cars and steering wheels were good, color was nice and clarity was near perfection.

When I played it on my 60in 4k....I wanted to take the 40 and the 27 out back and throw them in the burn pile. It was like I'd been playing at 600x800 all this time. Absolutely blew me away.
You could see dust on the dash, gauges actually working/fluctuating, the immersion was so real that even with a single display, I felt like I was in the car.
I can't imagine triple screening 4k and having a motion sim.

 

Yeah, I think we had this convo about simulators before. Large screen 4k in that situation is awesome. For me, I need high refresh rate and adaptive sync over resolution because I play mostly FPS and some 4D stuff. Large screens are also tough to play FPS on, you want to be able to notice everything you can within your field of view and a big screen just enlarges the area you are trying to see past what your eyes are capable of in that situation.

 

That being said if someone released a 4k 144Hz g-sync monitor in a 24 or 27 for less than 1k I'd be all over it lol.

Naw. I tried to play black ops zombies on it and it made me dizzy.
It is a 244hz I think but the refresh just isn't there.

I am still running a 780ti debating on upgrading to 1080ti or waiting for the next update and see where it goes.

 

I feel ya. Wonder if anyone makes a micro lan case that supports sli. Keep me from dragging this 50lb gamer case with me when I visit the folks.

 

Love my case but god damn its heavy especially with my end vision I want to deal with it lol.

With mining basically consuming cards as fast as nVidia can produce them and AMD stuck without a true competitor to the 1080Ti for gamers I'm sure nVidia is tempted to release another rehash of the 10 series. Holding off Volta for a year would really reap in the cash but sucks for gamers because until they decide what will power the 11 series who knows what to do.
