I'm still in! I've got a baby shower to attend afterwards (there will be beer, I will survive) so I can't partake in much after.

Game and fish just told me to get far back in there if I plan on shooting again at rail x. also for anyone with a hunting license your fine to target practice out there as it part of the hunting license he told me. But there is a handful of deer hunts going on in railx the next couple of weekends. but game and fish said there has been a couple people ticketed in the last couple of months for target shooting back in there.

I don't believe the part about having a hunting license makes target shooting legal in Rail X is true. In order to be in Rail X, you need a state trust permit. A hunting license is a substitute for that permit, but it is not a permit that allows target shooting. I will double check with some folks tomorrow. I work with AZGFD nearly daily anyway so I'll ask tomorrow.

What was the name of the Wildlife Manager that told you that?

Just checked on the state governments website and I am correct. Despite the fact that many people, myself included at times, target shooting in Rail X, we are not legally allowed to with a hunting license or a state trust permit.

Game and Fish won't be the ones ticketing you for that, but as you said above, the sheriff's will. I've even been checked out there in the past just for my permits by them.

I don't remember who I talked to but he said the same thing. Game and Fish will never cite you for it only if the sheriffs come. Ill still shot back there just further in now.
