Alright all. I am in the process of upgrading the stock tweeters and speakers in the front doors.

I understand how the tweeters and front speakers are wired. The 4 pin plug to the tweeter simply combines like colors to run the tweeter in parallel connection with the main speaker.

What i DO NOT get is the coloring. On the tweeter side its "standard" red and black. You would assume its + for red, and - for black. but that seems to be the opposite.

The coloring on the harness side is Green and blue. Everything (including toyota factory service manuals) state that Green is POSITIVE, and blue is NEGATIVE (for the front right door) But look at the picture below, the red and blacks are flip flopped!!!! That is the green (positive on the harness side) goes to black, and blue (Negative on the harness side) goes to red.

    W T F.

I have not moved any pins on the plug changed the configuration of how the wires were connected together. I simply chopped off the tweeter and crimped on connectors for my new ones.

I am just wondering if the colors on the tweeter side of the factory front door tweeters are backwards!
