Twin turbo 1gr on a hilux

I still wana get my pressure transducer and find actual TDC when I get around to it just for my own curiosity.

 

Use a screwdriver in the number 1 plug hole, when it reaches tdc if you have a logging scope for the crank VR sensor then you'll have your answer. Although without cam signal you might find you're 180° out from TDC on compression stroke which is what these ECUs care about.

 

The crank sensor being a vr sensor wouldn't produce much of a signal turning the engine by hand, much easier to use a pressure transducer and crank it.
I've been wanting to mess with it I just haven't had time to.

 

I had the cam sensor pick up sprocket scanned and this is what it came up.

 

The truck is finally running it started right at 165 degrees that is TDC. I wish i could upload a video but cant.

Finally got around to it, looks like cyl 1 TDC is about 200 degrees past the center of the sync notch or 20 teeth after the last missing tooth.

Taken at hot idle.
