I know it! Last time I was up there it was still pretty snowy and sketchy in some spots. Super glad I was able to explore freely and hit some trails that I haven't seen in about a year

The run off and wear and tear on the trails has definitely shown. One particular section I never used to have issues with gave me some problems this go-around. Lockers would have definitely helped but ended up having to stick the passenger side into the wash out and get up close and personal with some trees :anonymous: but we managed after a few attempts. Scared the woman, got a thumbs up from an ATV rider and his wife, and didn't break or dent anything :D 'twas a good day.

Well i suppose it's been 6 months. Might as well post something in this poor little thread :D

Got a solid 10 days off of work so i've been enjoying my time off up at the parents' place in Wyo. Was able to take the turd out and stretch it's legs a little bit

First photos of it with a new lens as well!

Thanks guys! I love the creative control it gives. Much more than the 19mm did for my shooting style. Took me a little while to feel it out but I think I'm kinda figuring out what it likes.

Nothing fancy going on here. However, i broke a CV axle a couple weeks back in some big old gnarly washouts  They were covered in snow and they were quite larger than i expected...About waist deep when i got out and stepped in one. But dammit the Yota just kept on chuggin. Had the CV not busted i woulda crawled right on up to the top, snow and all.

The previous night a friend of mine got stuck in this very spot for a couple hours in his 1st gen 4 runner and ended up hi-lifting the truck and stacking a big pile of rocks underneath the tire- which i ran over in the process. At some point during my spirited hill climb the front end came up off the ground and smacked down pretty good, and soon after followed the lovely sound of a CV axle clicking. At first i thought maybe it was the tire rubbing against the fender liner but when the suspension decompressed and the clicking continued i knew i had an issue.

Put it in 2 wheel and proceeded to back down a good 1/4 mile of the trail until i could find a spot to finally get turned around. Which was a process in itself with 2wd and open diffs. But the Turd made it out on its own power and for that i am thankful. Because i had my old man in a Chevy at the beginning of the trail waiting for me, so i couldn't give him the satisfaction of having to come save the Yota

Do you have another axle? Do you need one? I have an aftermarket (Advanced Auto) one I will never use. Its brand new, never been installed but it has a lot of OSK miles on it. :p

I'll make you a good deal on it if your interested.

I thought about getting a parts store replacement but since I'm not in a huge rush to get the truck moving again I'll provably hold off and get some remans from CVJ.

Actually PM me and let me know what you'd want for that axle. Wouldn't hurt to have an extra one on hand just in case.

    9 month later update:

Our little CV axle problem turned out to be a tad more that what I had expected..

[IMG]Untitled by Joshua Shipps, on Flickr

[IMG]Untitled by Joshua Shipps, on Flickr

The front diff was quite shredded up.

Anyways, purchased a used diff last week, threw it in the truck Friday night and 4x4 works like a champ again.

Currently in the process of ordering a few parts to get the front end back up to par. Fugly should be up and kicking, doing what Fugly does best here shortly.

Can I haz? I can't use my current front in Frank even as a core because I cracked the diff housing open.

Going to get an ECGS front.
