So I've driven a small car long enough and decided to get something better for hauling a new baby around (which is still pending). Picked up a 2012 double cab SR5 (4x4 of course). Quickly found Tacoma world - since I've been driving I've always tinkered with whatever I own and finding a good forum is essential.

    The first day home:

Made it roughly 1 day before I decided to order an Avid light bar (plus where I live it doesn't hurt to have extra deer and old people protection):

(There is a set of Hella 500 black magic lamps on there now)

And here's a pic next to my other vehicle:

It came with new tires - but they were some cheap Chinese tires that weren't quite big enough:

Oh, and there's this mod. There is a drive through safari park about an hour from us. Some friends and I went about 4 weeks after I got the Taco. We fed some buffalo and then drove forward - and one of them decided it wanted a little more food and charged the back of my truck. I guess that first dent in a new (to you) vehicle is always the most painful, but at least I have a good story.

    Yo!

Can you post a picture with the Hellas on the Avid bar? I have a 2012 and am considering that setup. I'd like to see it first, since you have it.

    Thanks!

I'll take a pic when I get it back on Thursday (truck sits at the rental car lot for a few days every week).

Lights in the Avid bar - FYI if you want to mount them this way, let Avid know when ordering and they will set the mount tabs up for it. Mine are welded in the normal spot (to mount the lights to the top of the bar) so I rigged them up with some longer bolts and a series of nuts for adjustment.
