Two Tone Flares

I just curious if anyone has painted their flares and rocker panels a color other than black.

I used to have a 3rd gen t4r and it was pretty common to see two tone Toyotas from the early 2000s. Tundras, Sequoias, and 4runners all seemed to have the option. My favorite was the Jade Green and Tan flares.

Anybody done this to their 2nd gen? It's Friday, so I'm just entertaining my brain.

Interesting point. How many manufacturers nowadays even OFFER anything other then monochrome paint jobs? Some have flares and cladding in different colors, but not two or even three tone paint! Also, what happened to vinyl roofs??

 

Vinyl roofs are just ... tacky.

Monochrome is boring.

Like the two-tone models. Apparently Toyota does also, since what was once a low-grade option, is now only available on their higher-priced Tacomas.

 

Vinyl roofs? Like from my grandpa's 1980 Chrysler? Lol I never understood those but I guess it's all personal preference.

I saw an old two tone 4runner yesterday and had a small nostalgia trip... Now I want one

My only gripe with that is that it makes the wheel well look massive. I rather like the OP's idea of flares that are a different color, but not black. I bet the green/tan combo looks good on a properly set up truck. Mine is too pedestrian to pull off anything like that and the Barcelona red doesn't really lend itself to much other than black accents.

 

Looks like Toyota or a dealer tried it with the new Tundras...

Not as appealing as the older trucks...
