It's the simple mods that make the biggest difference

Well I'm about to start working on my bungled shock situation.... after installing the kings it came to my attention that with the ride height set the way it is I have 0 down travel as the springs are making out the front end with 1.75" of preload. Easy fix right ? Wrong!!!! The set screws in the adjustment collars are dicked I bought am extractor kit the other weekend but I also broke two fingers at work so I've been sitting on this. Worst case scenario I'll have to send the shocks in for repair.

read you're looking at batteries as well. I ran my fridge/lights/winch etc off of a single odyssey agm 34 for a year and it worked perfectly. Just went to dual Northstar agm 35s because we are planning to go to mexico for a several months, and the heat down there runs the fridge constantly. up here in BC, the weather is pretty mild so the fridge doesnt have to run nearly as much

(I went with @HeliMedic 's Off-Grid Engineering kit, and it is incredibly polished, if you do end up going dual battery)

Hey thanks man.. it's funny I plan on going to baja next year. But I'm definitely gonna upgrade to the agm as the stock battery isn't gonna be up to par, my lights already dim when I use the winch. Thanks for the tip I'll have to keep that in mind

How are the 4.88's on 35's? Looking at re-gearing and can't decide between 4.56 or 4.88's Have 33's now but want to go to 35's eventually.

4.88s with 35s and a 5spd are there perfect combination. I get over 20 mpg highway which is awesome considering how heavy my truck is. If you have a 4cyl and want 35s 4.88 is the way you wanna go

My shocks finally came back Saturday, after two missed delivery dates, I got the call Saturday afternoon to come pick them up. They ended up charging me the absolute minimum as an apology for dropping the ball so that's always nice. Now that the shocks could be adjusted because all the adjusting hardware were replaced. I finally found a preload setting that works..... None, I have absolutely no preload and I'm sitting at 3" of lift

So if you wanna use 14" 700lb springs on a 4cyl have no preload lol.

Now with my truck back on the road and it being sunny and 18c (finally some warmth) I headed over to my buddies place and we got to work on the prinsu rack install. Pretty basic just gotta drink a beer and get over the fact you're gonna out 12 holes in your roof. Had to encourage some clearance on the air bag bracket near the rear hole on the back of the cab, but nothing serious.

PRO tip: drill a pilot hole and step up to 3/8ths. If your drill has a clutch set it low so when it starts to go through the sheet metal it prevents the bit from catching and drilling through airbags and the headliner.

It's starting to rain so I'll find out quick how sealed my roof is... I'll have more pics once I get the weather stripping drilled out and back on.

And just because here's a pic of the little shop helper we had today

Awesome 700# springs are definilty on my list. I feel I have too much preload with the 650's. Also I seems like you did the prinsu install without removing the headliner. That's good news to hear.

I did manage to get it done without removing the headliner but it depends where your curtain airbags are and wires etc. I had to use some picks to move stuff around but it all worked out..... good news it rained last night and my truck is dry inside

How does the 4.88 gears affect your gas mileage? Im running 35s with a 6 inch lift and my truck has almost no power over 65 mph but i wasnt sure how bad 4.88 gears would hit me in the gas mileage dept
