    Thanks for the props!!!

75 mph is around 120kph there's only two highways here that allow that one is the coquihalla highway and 5 months of the year it's a snowy icy hell that you'll be lucky to do 50mph on. The other is an expensive ferry ride away. That being said the fastest I ever travel in my truck is 70 loaded or unloaded. Loaded slight inclines are my nemesis. I'll drop as far as 3rd for some of the mountain passes. Unloaded I do the 5/4 drop a lot. Down shifting is part of the deal. It's funny you bring up those new 5.29s cause I'm thinking about it myself. There's a really great gear calculator I use
    http://www.grimmjeeper.com/gears.html
I'd say go for it. 5.29s are the standard for 22re trucks although the 2.7 is much more powerful the taco also weighs twice as much. You get where I'm going. The only reason I didn't do 5.29s is 1. No one made them at that time. And 2. I got a deal on locked and geared diffs. Hope this helps you make a decision.

Thanks for your input man, this definitely helps. I've been using that gear calculator you posted and thats what made me think that the lower gear ratio would suit me better, but i wanted to talk to someone about their experience with the 2.7 and 4.88s. Sounds like 5.29s are in my future! Thanks again man, i really appreciate it:hattip:

No worries. With my 35s if I were to go to 5.29s at 120kph I would be sitting around 3150rpms in 5th gear which isn't that far off from my current rpms at that speed. I would assume the lack of lugging would make up the difference in the fuel mileage department. Right now in full expo mode I'm hitting 19mpg. I do need new spark plugs though.

That would be a big step up from where im at right now. At 75, i cant even use 5th gear so im sitting at around 16mpg on 265s. I really need to regear so the truck doesnt have to work so hard to maintain speed. I also need to do spark plugs though so that could explain some of my crappy mileage

If you scroll back a bunch of pages you'll see how I was setup on on 265s I was still hitting 20+mpg sounds like you got some issues

Ill have to take some time and go back through a few pages. I can get 20mpg if i drive 60-65mph in 4th, but anything over that im in the mid to high teens for mpgs since i dont ever shift into 5th and all the speed limits in TX are 75 on the hwy. My truck also has 230000 miles on it.. how many miles or km does yours have?

I bought my 15' Tacoma 2days before you posted this pic. Love your build & it gives me inspiration for my lil 4popper!

Also how much lift did originally have all the way around when you put on the dirty fives for the first time a few yrs back?

Thanks man, glad your being inspired. Originally with the icons there was closer to 3" of lift in the front and maybe 2 in the back with the stock leafs and aal, later with shackle flip and dakars it was closer to 4" in the rear. The icons slowly sagged over time. My kings have also finally settled. Gotta spin them up a bit.

So if any of you guys follow along on Instagram you'll notice I snuck out to the lake mid week. New tent is awesome shout out to @Box Rocket again for putting it all through. I like some of the improvements on the tent such a dring tie downs instead of plastic clips. But I fear the Velcro strapping won't last long here in BC time will tell. The extra pocketa inside and the mattress tie downs are nice too. Overall the ruggedized isn't encumbering my truck too much but let's say 5.29s or a crawl box are looking mighty good.

Here's a few pics also happy to report the boot bags kept my boots dry during the rain we had at night. My buddy Steve in his 90 hilux double cab joined me for the short trip

I also ordered some 12" travel shocks and a trail gear rear diff armor plate. Since I smashed my diff about 1800 times. Winter was hard on the trails the little rocks are now big boulders :D:turtleride:

the lower part on the label of the Caskmate is darker than the original Jameson, and the logo on @TYetti 's bottle seems to be red and not black, like on the original. But still, Jameson or Caskmate, we are both talking about the same brand haha:fistbump:
