Lol no I wish it was running, I just installed the flywheel and clutch last night I took it off about 5 times I was paranoid about doing it backwards.. my truck saw nothing but 5/20 Mobil 1 5k km changes.. I talked with the builder he agrees that the dust may have not helped but these were going to fail no matter what. So 5/20 it is cause that's the spec.. it's up to 20 degrees weird considering it was snowing last week

All in good time.. I'll be doing a full review once she's running and broken in

The header looks like a real nice piece some better quality on the welds maybe some less splatter would be nice for presentation but I'm looking forward to firing it up

What a fucking shit show today was.

So I got up early ready to get the engine mounted in. The truck today, but first I was like hey let's get those new sensors for the gauges in while the engine is out it'll be easier.

    5hrs later

So it seems the 2tr uses the temp sensor for the ecu and the gauge, unlike some older models. I'm assuming the gauge gets a signal from the ecu and displays the idiot level on the dash, pro tip it never moved!!!

Ok let's get some t fittings and make this work. Oh what's that oh no one carries metric fittings in fucking Canada :mad::mad::mad:

Finally find one and the contraption was so big and so full of adapters that it wouldn't fit between the fuel rail and the intake. Plan b let's ask where I should put it.. oh the block drain coolant drain tube. Great idea, hey let's use one of these adapters I got, nope they fall apart leaving metal shavings in the fucking threads in the block. 15 minutes for a panic attack, find a magnet a flashlight my pick set and an hour later I feel I've gotten it clean enough to continue. Oh look the auto meter sensor fits in the end of the tube let's see if it blocks water from draining. It does :D:cool:!!! Ok next up oil pressure sensor thread insert metric nipple

Oh wait what the fuck why is my water bypass tube still plastic. Call up engine guy, there's nothing wrong with it so I thought I'd save you some cash. Say thanks yell out kill me now. Call Toyota oh sorry we never stock anything that won't be here till tomorrow. Rage throw phone...

So in 8 hours I installed my header and two after market sensors. No sense in putting the engine in the truck because with it out I have room to pull the pipe out without taking off the intake. :frusty::frusty::frusty::frusty::frusty::violent::proposetoast::proposetoast::proposetoast::proposetoast:

Sooo the metal water tube can't go back on without taking the intake apart. FML ok so I just loosened it and got it in sweet.. next I spent hours and hours trying to shoehorn this thing onto the passenger side mount o got it to within 1/4 " only to have the pry bar slip and the engine fall onto the mount wiping out the oil filter and scratching the fuck out of my header. Oh and scratching the fuck out of the oil pan.. then I realized I forgot the flex plate ok fuck pull the clutch and flywheel off again and then go to put it back together

Pretty sure flywheel bolts are longer than this. :violent::violent:

Turns out the torque wrench was one click off from being fully engaged so instead of 19lbs I was doing more like 200. Toyota who's useless locally is like 10-14 days for new bolts.. I ordered a set from LCE they'll be here Monday it looks like :turtleride:

So close yet so far... Started the morning off right got my hands on some m10x120 bolts from r the transmission x member. Got that thing in pretty easily, ran around with my torque wrench before that I couldn't get my wrench on the two top bolts of the trans so they got two UGA dugas.

Put the drive shafts back on somehow I've lost on nut for the rear shaft. I'll just get a new one at this point. Put everything I could back together and then ran into this hot mess
    IMG_20190327_114146_75a5078e012820444f3bd4a857b2aca3c3cbf8b8.jpg

Ok no biggie I'll cut the pipe and tighten it all the way at the flange... Nope.. somehow they welded this thing together at a downward angle so it touches the xmember and doesn't even come close to meeting up with the rest of the exhaust. Then I looked a little harder at the pipe, whoever welded this should have their eyes checked. Holes missed spots just gross.. I'm kinda at a loss right now. If I can bend it a bit to get it to like up for now.. I will but I dunno

Looks good! What was the final fix for the exhaust, were you able to bend it or was a cut and re weld job?
