Well the last few weeks I have been swamped with work and spent 7 days in bed with a nasty food poisoning incident. So with the long weekend I decided it was time to make use of the time and get out and have some fun.

    Friday
headed into the Squamish Valley which is about 45 min east of Whistler BC. Met up with everyone and we headed out. Played around in the valley before heading up the mountain to the Ashlu Gold Mines. Which we spent the rest of the afternoon exploring

    Saturday
We were supposed to start on the trails at 930 but I slept in and luckily the boys decided to wait, Mainly cause I was the only one who knew the way to secret lake lol but still it was good cause I would have hated to have been the cause of them missing out. On the downside because of my lateness we only had the time to do the one trail as we all had family duties to attend too.

    Sunday
BCToyota4WD did a group buy on some custom Trasharoos and decided to take over the local tim hortons again for another one of our swag coffee meets. nothing like new truck stuff on a nice sunny day. I had to stop by work to prep up my work rig for a road trip which I'm currently still on so i decided to take a poser pic with my new bag, also the batteries were dead on my rig cause the interior lights got left on so I used the taco to jump the 5ton nissan

Nothing much to report been away a lot for work haven't had much time for the truck. The weekend before last a buddy got some 35's on his tacoma and wanted to test them out along with his new lift so we headed out for a quick rip which turned out to be a 6 hour ordeal because some jeep club from vancouver decided to get stuck and take forever in places my truck walks through but it was entertaining at least. here's a few pics from the trip nothing new really just a decent day out in spite of the jeeps

Well kicked off the spring here in BC with a great trip up to visit the high desert and grasslands of Kamloops BC. I bombed up Friday after work it's about a 4hr drive to the campsite which is about 30 min outside of town. Some fun little trails totally different stuff than the dense rain forest I'm used too. Mostly shale loose rock and huge hill climbs And dust wow was there dust. My air filter is toast I'm sold on the snorkel now it's gonna happen this year I think. Anyways here's some pics I snapped of the weekend which was much needed. Also small note I dropped my coilovers off on Friday to be rebuilt should be ready in about a week.

    Pics

5am I headed back into town for supplies(provincial campsites are pay sites and I didn't have cash)

mid morning we met up with some friends and as it turns out you need armour at the mall these days. A lady on her phone drove into the side of my truck in the parking lot. My cruisin off road sliders killed her nissan

You can see the scuff on my tire and there's a tiny scratch on my slider so pro tip of the day make sure you have armour at the mall

After all the swapping of insurances etc. we finally got to hit the trail and what a trail it is

one of the hill climbs we did on the trail. I started in 4lo second gear but ended up in 1st gear because of some rocks and the grade increasing spent most of this around 4500 rpm

So I got smart and did my very own quick disconnect system, only because I like my dad and when my mother is upset usually he has to deal with it. You can check my DIY mod here -> https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/frugal-sway-bar-quick-disconnect-diy.373070/

Ya there's no point in my opinion just an extra step to deal with at a trail head. Sway bars are useless in this application. Mine is at the bottom of a scrap pile somewhere.

Cleaning up the truck after my last trip out I realized my tail pipe was pretty mangled up and touching the spare. Decided it had to go before it end up squishing my bedside

I also ordered some spindle gussets today should be seeing those around the same time my coilovers are ready I'm hoping the skids will be ready around that time as well. Gonna have a lift party with a buddy and his fj as I have a shop and we're doing basically the same lift up front

Thanks man, I'm pretty lucky that some of the best wheeling is only a couple hours away. The great part about bc is its so big it truly has everything from coastal rain forests, inland deserts and grasslands to frozen tundra. You could wander for years and not see it all. my hope is may long weekend the lift will happen but we'll see how shipping and stuff works out

Do you rub when flexed or full crank?

not that I've noticed. It was rubbing on the front flaps a bit at full stuff and full crank but they fell off soo no it doesn't. These tires are too small I need bigger ones

After last weekends parking lot incident and the subsequent insurance company fallout I decided a dash cam was necessary to prevent debate in the future if I happen to be involved in another accident. Picked up this little HD cam from a friends shop for 148$ with a hard wire kit which I have yet to install jut wanted to figure out the best mounting and live with it for a bit before making it permanent

Pro tip: don't heat up your brakes on trails drive through some water and then park her with the ebrake on all night your brakes seize on. Few hammer taps and it was spinning again

My cover has been taking a beating double bounced on some rock/colvert washout and off she went

When you rip your bumper cover off good friends give you beer
