Soo sad news today. The guy I was gonna do the tire swapping with has backed out. No Harm no foul. I kinda figured anyways when I hadn't heard from the guy in a month. Anyways he let me borrow his rtt rack for the weekend as I goofed on my dates and my rack won't be ready till next weekend. So at least I'll be set for what looks like a very rainy 2nd annual turkey jam.

On a more positive note I've scored some cruisin off road bumpers front and rear with swing out. Just gotta settle up and pick them up as well as get a 1" body lift as they're designed to work with that. So ya fun stuff I will have a massive pic dump after the weekend as usual

can you still open your tool box with that RTT setup? i have an access cab as well and will be picking up a tool box soon but want to do a RTT on cross bars like that but worry about it being able to open. your set up is honestly what i envision for my RTT someday whenever i get it. thanks in advance.

I can totally open my box, even with the tent open and the bars for the rain fly installed there's still enough room. I need better leafs though bounced off the bumps a bunch of times this weekend

Whipsaw Bush Turkey Jam 2: Jesse's Revenge

A great success this year. More carnage that I've ever seen on this trail but hey its what makes it fun.

The trip started out with twice as many trucks as I was expecting
    FB_IMG_1444625279075_1_5a6deba091a09c1c6e453f5c5c7ec3dabc8d17da.jpg

Then the rain came and wow did it ever fall. Now whipsaw isnt the hardest trail when it's dry but it can still do some damage if you're not careful. When it's raining and washouts turn into greasy slides and puddles turn into mud lakes it get interesting really fast.

The carnage started before we even hit the trail. There was a deer incident on the highway. One of the second gens lost an oil cap and most of his oil. Then this fj lost a wheel due to improper maintenance on the wheel spacers. So some fuckery ensued to get him back on the trail a couple guys stayed behind and would head back to town if needed but we all had vhf so coms were pretty good. Once we got everyone sorted out we made some pretty good time.

Waiting for everyone to catch up. My girls and a 1uzfe 4runner :)

Then I decided to push things and see if I could climb the rock face in the wet and mud... i could not but it made for some good pics and an interesting winch save

Then it was time to get flexy but first the only jeep on the run had to blow out a coil spring

We almost lost the v8 runner here if he sneezed he'd of rolled I stopped taking pics cause I dropped my phone getting ready to get out of the way

Just before we got to camp the 1uz runner missed a tree and lost his tailgate

The tent did well after being in the rain for hours it was still dry when I unfolded it

    20151010_145952_dd0f454dca91eafac155a09ff7a5453130347d54.jpg

I really dislike this setup. My rack will be 2" higher and I will have the tent coming off the side instead cause off the rear is a pita

    A little fire action

Much drinking and deep frying of turkey and other things happened. The next day we got back at er around 11 ish it had snowed heavily for about 3 hrs but luckily it had melted by the time we were ready to move

But first we carrot dicked a 4runner

Right after this pic the alt wire on this truck arcked out. Apparently it had been rubbing on the steering shaft. He made it home on battery power. The mud would later claim the coil pack on the other second gen pickup as well as one of the third gens died due to a water logged air intake a few trail fixes later but we all made it to loadstone lake the official end of the whipsaw trail

I'll just leave this right here

Wow its dirty under here. Getting the 1" BL installed

Soo started taking apart the interior and found this
    20151031_113925_5e0833ebff59dd65c94381f28472bf5615dd351e.jpg

I'd been wondering why I'd been hearing lots of road noise and getting lots of dust in the cab. From the underside it looks like a rock just fit perfectly between the arms for the sliders. I had no idea this had even happened.

    Soo time to fix it
    20151031_164449_336d2f84970487be0c9501feb70cf9462c545baf.jpg

Used some sealer on both sides
