So the shocks are 4-5 weeks out. If they arrive in 4 weeks I'll be wrenching the day I leave for the trip. If they arrive in 5 weeks I'm screwed

    Update:

My buddy at 4wheel parts worked some magic and the kings will be here on Tuesday, Truck is getting a Driveline service this Saturday. So now I've got lots of time to get my 14" 700lb coils on the new kings and setup my ride height again and get another alignment. Still much better then doing this all the night before leaving

Ps my GF found out how much I spent on shocks and hasn't spoken to me in two days lol..... she still makes dinner tho

    Well here's some more updates

Got my diffs, tcase and trans serviced today. Normally something I'd do myself but changes to the rules on recycling fluids make it cheaper to pay someone to do it. Anyways pick up the truck and I have a lovely list of things to fix

Brakes are toast(weird I didn't notice but I haven't really been driving the truck much)
    Uniballs are toast
    Outer tie rods are done

So lots of wrenching to do and 4 weeks to do it.. fml this is the most expensive trip ever

There goes another 500$ and my gf still won't talk to me.

I figured since I gotta take apart the whole front end and do an alignment I might as well go balls out

    -inner tie rods
    -outer tie rods
    -rotors
    -pads
    -tc unibal replacement kit
    -tc press tool
    -tc replacement bushings

And I still have to take the icons apart so I can transfer the springs over to the kings

I ended up ordering the small stuff off rockauto which was cheaper than local even with shipping. I'll have to order the tc stuff this week from the local dealer. Also I came out to a flat front tire yesterday pumped it back up and it hasn't gone down 1 psi since soo ya gonna have to keep an eye on that too

Probably not for at least a week. I will install the resi brackets though. I'm still waiting on my other components and I need to take out the Ucas for rebuild as well

I'm undecided if I'll put the 14" 700lb coils on right away. I will say this the icons look like toothpics compared to the kings. They did ride nice on the icons until they exploded

Realistically it's like a day job. Big Country Customs can re&re my Ucas for 100$ plus tax just waiting on the uniballs they're out of stock. The tie rods won't be hard and brakes are like 5min a side. My electric impact did shit the bed so I need to warranty it. But I've still got the good old snap on air gun. All the parts should be here next weekend so by Sunday it should be on all 4 wheels again

Ah sounds good! I thought it was "worst" than that when I red it lol. At least the truck is no more you DD so if something happen and don't finish the job you are not stuck walking

Soo starter working on everything today it's pretty much done just waiting on my inner tie rods. I've also gotta take the Ucas to the shop to get new uniballs pressed in. I got the the heavy springs put on yesterday as well.

Since the shocks had already been removed it was all super easy. Remove the claps for the inner boot and slide it off. I used a pipe wrench and they spun off no problem
    20170604_113615_778e5900cb05f099de0d40073554599e134de0f7.jpg

I took them off as an assembly so I can match up the new ones and hopefully get the alignment close enough to drive to my alignment guy and not have the truck wondering.

I covered the exposed steering shafts with plastic and used zip ties to secure them in case it rains. I ended up going with Raybestos rotors and stop tech heavy duty pads. Nothing exciting there we all know how to do a brake job. I pulled the Ucas and installed the resi towers

I also got my heavy coils put on the kings last night at a special toyota BBQ put on by 4wheelparts and couldn't not drive it up the rti ramp
