what is the general consensus on their products? mainly the "rockslides" and rear bumper protector?

I just bought my second soft trifold tonneau cover. First one was a year old and looked like new when I sold it. Very good fit. I'd say it's close to the quality of the trifecta cover which sells for 2x as much. I've used other cheap tonneaus and the Tyger is leaps and bounds better.

It is not expensive gear but seems to be good quality for what you pay.

I’m using their roll-up tonneau and it’s been perfect so far. 9 months and ~15000 miles, 90 degrees down to -10 so far.

No experience with their hard parts.

They aren’t rocksliders, just steps. I bought them, realized they bolt to the rocker panel, sent them back

I had a set of the tyger side steps too. They work well for what they are so long as you’re just looking for steps because they are not sliders. Ended up taking them off and installing a set of the oem Toyota aluminum ones because I came across a great deal and I like the look better.

I bought the tyger steps and used them as real sliders (not a good idea). I didn't incur any damage as a result, but they only lasted three trips before they were bent kinda good. So I bought new real sliders and used one of the tyger steps as a rear bumper20180615_164944.jpg 20181210_192832.jpg

True, the steps Tiger makes are not sliders. I do get off-road but I don’t rock crawl. I’ve been in a situation where I’ve slightly scrapped them a couple of times but never with the weight of the truck resting on them.

That said, they have been solid and look just like new after almost 2 years with the powder coat holding up nicely and no rust.

Wide enough to be a useful step to get in the cab and access the roof, and they block a ton of debris/gravel from reaching the paint on the truck. If I’m on a gravel road I hear all the pinging of rocks hitting the underside of the steps but my paint job looks new still.

And finally, they are wide enough that when I’m parking in a tight garage, I just park next to anything that’s shorter than my truck and never worry about door dings

This has been my experience, as well. I am happy with the step bars.

thanks guys! I have step bars now but I bought them before I ever saw these. had I seen the Tyger bars first that is what I would have bought. I am not too worried about using them as actual rock sliders, as I don't plan to put my truck into that kind of situation. but I think they would still serve better off roading than step bars. I may swap them and give them a try just for the heck of it.

I have the steps and love the look of them. They are pretty heavy duty but I don't do any hardcore wheeling that would really require sliders.
