I was having that issue, sliding the two tension clips at the back towards the front of the bed helped. It seemed like the tension was to great and causing the back to lift up. It only took a small adjustment but it helped a lot.

Life span on a leather one is about 4 years until it gets a hole in it. Buy a solid tri fold cover

My Tyger roll up cover was $180. Most hard tri folds are $900, meaning I could buy 4 (or 16 years worth) of Tyger covers before I broke even. And I cant fold most of the hard tri folds completely out of the way like I often have to do on my short bed to use it to carry stuff.

Got one as a Christmas gift and installed today. Love it so far! It’s exactly what I was looking for, seems really sturdy when closed and love how it rolls all the way up when I need the full truck bed. Really good value for under $200.

@skierd how is the cover holding up?
    Have you had any issues?

No issues with the cover material. It’s starting to show some wear on the corners but should easily last another 2-3 years before developing holes. I normally keep the cover down, covering the bed, and only roll it up when I have to haul something too tall to fit under or I need to wash it out from hauling trash. It’s still flexible enough to roll up at -35F! The side rails and cover bows stick a little occasionally and could probably be remedied by adjusting the clamps but it’s not enough to fuss with. I’ll almost 100% replace it with another when it eventually does fail.

Having a hard time getting the nut on. Not enough room for it to rotate. Any suggestions?

Put the nut in first, then tighten the bolt in to it.

OK, I'm sold. Has anyone put one on a 2020 short bed yet?

I just want to chime in to update after a year for anyone on the fence - the cover is awesome, amazing value for the price (I paid $190). I've got it on a 2018 Access Cab (6' bed) and it still looks almost brand new. Super versatile, and I get 0 leaks from the tonneau itself - there's small bits of water coming in at the cab ends, and some through the tailgate sides. No fault of the cover itself, you'll get the same leaks with any other cover unless you seal it (which I haven't bothered to do, it's so minimal). Like @skierd mentioned it's stiff but still rolls up when its well below 0°F, and no issues when there's been a foot of heavy snow piled on it.

    Hope that helps some folks

Do you think that the 6x rail clamps will work with other stuff mounted on the rail?

I’m wondering if they’d fit around the hi-lift and shovel.
.....how far do they go into the bed?

So long as the clamps aren’t sharing the same physical space at the mounts for the other stuff it should be fine. They hug the edges of the bed pretty well.

I have an extang tri fold solid cover which only has four clamps, two front and two back which are mounted at approximately 11.5” oc. As you can see from the pictures your can probably play with number 1” +\-

I have a 5’ bed with four (2 per side) clamps so can’t answer your question. But ... I’m considering mounting my HiLift the way you have it, and I’m curious how it’s holding up. It seems like a lot of weight for the rails which are just attached to the composite bed with pretty small screws. And is it just gravity that’s hold the lower edges of your HiLift mounts (Relentless?) against the bed side? I don’t do hardcore ‘wheeling but I do drive a lot of desert washboard and I’d hate to break the bed or rip the rail off. Thanks!

I would call extang on Monday. Ask them for exact dimensions of where the brackets go, they will tell you, customer service there is great. They have given me exact numbers in the past.

As per the screws on my cover they are mounted into a threaded aluminum bracket that sits in the track. No sign on wear on my bed from the cover

Will the cover stay if u roll half way or does it need to fully opened or closed when driving?
