    Hey again guys,

I'm looking at nerf bars for my truck and need some opinions.

First things first, I live in northern New England and near the ocean. The closest I get to offloading is maybe a dirt or gravel road a few times a year.

I'm leaning heavily towards getting Tygur Star Armor Nerf Bars, however I'm slightly concerned about them rusting out as they arnt stainless steel. Does anyone have any experience with these steps in one of the salt belt states?

My next option is Westin R5 Stainless steel nerf step bars, however they are about $150 more, which is a bit pricey for me right now.

I'm going to cover up the stars, so the only thing I'm worried about is the longevity of the Tygurs.

    Any thoughts?

I have tyger stuff, not the bars but other stuff they arnt sliders, so dont treat them like it and you should be ok. If u hit them, touch then up with some rust treating spray paint and u should be good.

They make decent quality stuff, what I have from them, I like minus the huge fucking tyger logos lol

Yeah, I'm going to either put some grip tape over them, or buy those diamond mat pieces with the adhesive on the back if I get the Tygers.

I don't live in the salt belt, but I can attest to the quality of the steps. Mine are 2.5yrs old and have no signs of rust, the powder coat is holding up very well, and they have taken a few minor dings. Also is satisfying when I'm on gravel / rock and I hear the rocks pinging the underside of the steps (instead of my truck) :)

Not sliders, and it doesn't sound like you need those. They are beefy and weigh 45lbs / step

So ended up ordering the Tygers. I figure worst comes to worse they only last a few years, but will give me time to save up for something better if I want. But who knows, maybe they'll never rust out and I'll be all set.
