So i got it today. I have to say i'm very impressed with it. It took about 20 mins to install, wiped it with some Hyperdressing for UV protection. Can't say much about keeping water out because it was raining when I put it on. Next time my bed is dry and it rains alot, ill update.

For the money, It is great IMO

 

can one of you guys do me a huge favor and measure the width of your tyger cove? Not sure if this will fit between my overland rack!!!

 

Ordered one last night, got an open box for $194. Glad to hear others have had good luck. I plan to do a little extra weather proofing up front if needed. I’ll post some pictures when I am done. Rock on TW!!

I installed one of these for my dad's 17 DCSB last year around June, and was impressed by it enough (especially how it handled rain) that I put one one my Pro.

 

I am happy with the cover overall, although I think I am going to move it forward another 1/4" The quality is acceptable for the price. I mean I would love for the thumb screws to be 316 Stainless, but for $194 this is what you get. I believe its engineered to last and I think I will get at least 10 years out of it, hit it with a coat of 303 aerospace right before the pictures. There are a few tiny spots of light in the front of the bed, but honestly its the bed design more than the cover design. There is not a cover out there that can address all of the nooks and crannies of the tacoma bed, dont even get me started on the tailgate. But all of that being said I feel the cover is about 95% weather resistant as it sits and after some extra effort/weather proofing the truck bed will be 99% weather proof. I am confident enough that i chucked all the kids soccer stuff, 8 new jersays and shorts back there without a worry this morning. (coach)

Has anyone gotten this cover for the long bed? Tried searching Amazon but nothing saying an exact fit like the shortbed.

 

Just picked one up off Facebook marketplace new in box unopened for $120. Figured it was a heck of a deal. Easy installation and I feel it’s made pretty well. What did y’all put on yours for UV protection?

 

I put 303 Aerospace on it every time i wash the truck. Really keeps it looking new.

Any idea how this compares to extang tonneau? I can get a used one for the same price but I'm thinking the new tyger might be better since it will be new. And how do the clamps compare? Reason I'm asking is my rails had to be drilled into the bed because the previous owner took off the rails and removed the anchors probably had some broken screws.

 

6 months in and its holding up great! couldn't say about the comparison though.

 

How does it hold up driving on the highway?

 

I have the Tyger trifold
on my 17 trd dcsb.. I’ve hit speeds of 90mph
. it stayed in place. Used on my 5,000 mile summer vacation and kept our luggage dry.

paid $120 on fb marketplace. Cheap and durable. Folds up and locking clips to access bed.

I put 10,000 miles on it since install and this thing is awesome.

It’s a great,cheap alternative . I want a topper but at $1,200-$2,500 for a fiberglass shell I got this.
It looks good also.

I have had mine up to around 90MPH as well, Although I will say out of the 12k miles I've put on my truck since buying it; maybe 1,000 of those miles have been highway. I avoid the Interstate unless I am leaving the State. And I live smack in the middle of it. LoL

ITs held up great so far, 99.5% water resistant. Sides of the tail gate are the worst part, and that's a Toyota thing.

 

What did y'all clamp the safety clamps with the yellow cord on to? My cover came with 6 sliding lips for the rails but the instructions say clamp the safety clamps unto the metal bed lip.
