Hello members, im a new member here, Im from Jamaica and I have a 2006 X Runner, I am currently running 255-45-18 on my truck, the craters (potholes) here are skipping game for me, I am planning to go 255-50-18's, just want to know if anyone has ever ran this size on their truck without it rubbing the front fenders?

You should be fine. There is only .5 inch difference out toward the fenders, and if the front touches on bumps, you can just roll the fenders a bit.

    Also welcome to tacoma world

Hello everyone, i'm also new here too and happen to have the same model year X-Runner as OP. I've had mine for about over a year now and it's about time I've upgraded my tires. However, I just realized shopping around that i'm running a different size rubber 235/55R18 from OEM's (255/45R18) on stock wheels. Is this common be wrapping them in different sizes to have more profile and maybe a more rolling diameter?

Do your Tyres brush the fenders or the gaurds ? 235-55-18's seems kinda high in my mind, but if doesn't I will definetly try 255-50-18's on my X Runner, just did a complete paint job on mine, but realized some of the plastic clip holders were broken off, so I did some Fiberglas repairs to them plus add some windscreen sealant to the body kit

Haven't noticed any problems with the current configuration. Although ride comfort is pretty stiff. Only realized the difference when shopping for OEM replacement but hopefully there's no negative impact. I might give the 255/50R18 try.

They give a little more meat in the sidewall.
