Does replacing the U-bolt require jacking up the truck, or can I simply replace the bolts on a flat surface? If so, do i put jack stands on the back axles, or the frame? I've never done this before.

    Thanks.

I did mine on a flat surface. One side at a time.

If you aren't driving the truck and it's on a flat surface, it'll be fine. The weight of the truck holds the leafs against the axle. Also there is the locating pin. You are fine. Just do one side at a time.

Well you could take the U bolts off and try to move the vehicle. It would be a bad idea of course. Nothing surprises me on this forum.
