My Prerunner doesn’t have grease fittings. 111K with no issues.

Has anyone used the sealed u joints as well?

Do they throw grease over time too?

Generally if I find grease I think there's something wrong there.

I've re-done my u-joints twice (250k total on the truck). As a 2wd, I had 'life time greased' joints from factory. Replaced with with greaseable, and greased them every oil change. It was fine but got kinda tired of it shooting up all the excess grease under the truck and cleaning that off. Not that it was a big deal. So when I re-did them for the 2nd time, I went back to the life time greased units. Theres many u-joint videos out there and some claim these are built to better tolerances as well. I've no actual proof of that, I just didn't want to keep cleaning grease off the underside of the truck.

I know I should have I but never greased my OEM u-joints. I replaced them at about 120K when my center bearing needed replacing. I went with Spicer non-greasable u-joints. The OEMs looked good and they had no play but it was a no brainer to me to replace the OEM u-joints since I had the driveshaft out and it could be another 100K miles before replacing the center carrier again.

This is same with me. I've already got greaseable ball joints and wished I'd gone with something else, something not Moog. I really don't want more grease frankly like you say its a pain to deal with. I wonder if Spicer sealed u joints last anywhere long as the Spicer grease able ones do.
I suspect this could be the case especially if they were designed to truly keep and retain grease for 100K miles.
Greasable joints on other hand seems like they are not sealed as well and made to leak grease.
Getting a greasable u joint and just greasing then not greasing them again is not the same as getting seal u joint since these are made not to leak at all?

The only reason I corrected you was so someone doesn't waste a day looking for the missing two universal joints on the rear shaft.

The side benefit of regularly greasing your u-joints is they spin/splatter grease all around the underside, which helps protect from corrosion.

Mine unserviceable ones lasted 125k miles. Replaced with Spicer.

I grease mine every other oil change. 10k mile interval.

Decided to go with Spicer sealed joints.
