    Beautiful looking bags!

    Full Disclosure:
We did not buy one of these sleep sets.

But ... we can definitely say, without reservation, that having an extreme cold weather survival system (in cold country) is a better investment than a set of EXPO bumpers and cost less too...
    And i love EXPO bumpers.

To make a long story short we were truck camping in late summer, a bad storm blew in (-14* below zero almost instantly) we got cold, yada, yada, yada, we now employ every freaking cold weather strategy know to wo/man.

The thing is its NOT enough to just have a sleeping bag.

We really needed to have an entire extreme cold weather survival system stored onboard and well, we didn't, but we do now!

So this is what we have.

    1) Heavy Weight Wall Tent w Stove Hole
    2) Foldable Tent Stove
    3) 2 water proof ground cloths
    4) 2 interior tent drop cloths
    5) 2 shock cord suspension cots
    6) 2- 1" thick air mattresses
    7) 2 Extreme Cold Military Mummy bags
    8) 2 hooded bag liners (flannel & silks)
    9) 2 base layer PJ's (loose but not too.)
    10) 2 hooded 2nd layer PJ's
    11) Walls Coveralls
    12) 3 season bag cover (canvas)
    13) Top Cover (canvas comforter)
    14) 2 Pillows
    15) 2 camelback water bags
    16) Snacks, lots of snacks
    17) 2 Steel Foot Lockers
    18) Prolly a lot i cant remember

This sounds like overkill and to some it is, but please consider, the entire system, for 2, was bought off CL and from thrift stores for less than $200, stores in 2 small foot lockers and can be easily loaded or unloaded depending on the trail.

    Way cheaper than EXPO bumpers...
    And i love EXPO bumpers.

We carried these during survival training. Can confirm they are heavy. Can't speak to the -40 F degree suitability. But the bags are really warm. The modularity is also a plus.
The only thing that sucked was the compression sack buckles (plastic) were prone to breaking due to us trying to compress it as much as possible to make it fit in ALICE packs.

I have found that to be the case too...the buckles do break. The best method for compression I have found is to get the bags compressed as much as possible and then sit on the bag (on the top on the opening side of the compression sack and then pull the compression straps little by little until it is as small as it will compress). To date, packing over 2000 of them I have only broken a couple (1 or 2) using this method.

Received my bag today. Believe I just ordered it last Thursday or Friday. Fast shipping. Looks to be a great setup. I got the excellent condition one and is better than that. I would bet just the gortex outer shell cost a good bit more than this whole system. Thanks Bob!

So educate me, these come in different sizes? Thought you mention XL sizes not available. Are you out of unissued? How much to ship two to 66043 (cheapest way). Thanks. Heck of a story. You raised a good one.

Tennier Industries make (made) these in two different sizes. Normal and XL. The XL have been slim to none (You are right I have none), over the years I have only seen a couple and do not expect to see any in the future, other than by accident. The normal size will fit people up to about 6' 1"ish, 240 pounds. I have found that the specs on these bags are not very tight and if people let me know in advance (Only guaranteed with the Excellent Bag sets), I can pick out parts that are larger than normal (Out of spec). I have been able to fit people that are "larger in the middle" and up to 6'2"-6'3".

I do have about 4 or 5 of the Unissued left (I know I have three for sure).

It looks like UPS Ground or USPS Ground are about the same ($26.50).

Thank you regarding my kid, he really is a good one and I am VERY proud of who he is becoming. Just got to keep on the straight and narrow path to ensure he continues his success in life.

    Stuff, things, this, an ADS
Used these things in the mountains of Afghanistan in January they are awesome. Also the water proof bivey sack is great for sleeping in 60-90 degrees F. And it's a great water proof bag to lay in too. Used it in Iraq and Afghanistan the same one for four years held up great not to mentions all the field training with them too.

Any other interest? These are going fast at this point. I have them advertised on E-Bay, Amazon, our website and Craig's List, so each time I pick-up a batch they last about 1 to 2 months and then bangoo...their gone.

Great sleeping bags. I have 4. When I was off in foreign lands, I used these many times in sub-zero temps. Better bag IMO than the new ones they issue.

I regularly update the inventory available for these sleeping bags...Please see the first posting for current inventory. They are going fast (We offer these on eBay, Amazon, Craigslist and our website)...the prices on these sites are higher than what I have been offering them here...

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Just an update....I have 3 unissued/unused sleep sets and a large number of the excellent sets. Please let us know if we can help you. As a side note, we also got about 200 one quart military canteens with the gas-mask adapter if anyone is interested. They are going for $2.75 plus the ride.
