I bought this vehicle with a good title but it was torn apart, literally on the inside and needs quite a bit of body work. When I picked it up, every module was ripped from the vehicle and it only had seats, carpet and wiring. Even the headliner was ripped out. - aftermarket Katzkin - aftermarket rear heated seats - upgraded sound system - Dynamat throughout.
Does anyone know where the "accessory gateway" is? Is it a module or connector?

I may be missing mine. I was diving in deeper with techstream and I noticed current DCT's and I am getting now communication from the "accessory gateway"

    Symptoms:
    - master driver's door window switches only controls driver's window. Door locks and mirrors work.

    - no hazard light

    - BDS is out, but the sensors are missing from rear bumper damage.

    - automatic Headlights aren't working. The Auto setting on the column seems to do nothing.

I'm getting codes in a few systems about the accessory gateway.

It's part of the CAN network...

I knew it was part of the CAN system but I am not sure where to start looking for a missing module, or a connector that may be unplugged, etc.

Just not sure where to locate it or start troubleshooting.

That's why I'm posting here. When I open it ad search for accessory gateway, nothing is returned.

I don't want to just blindly start pulling connectors and testing their fit.

It sounds like this is a specific connector or module in the truck. I just can't find anywhere that shows it's physical location.

    Thanks man,
    That fixed the one DTC.

I still am having gateway issues but that is one down.

I also figured out the driver's windows controls for the passenger window not working, it was not initialized. I can now control the passengers window from the driver's controls.

Back windows still don't work though. I tried to initialized them but I found out the passenger rear window won't go down at all, not even with its own button.

The driver's rear can be controlled with its own but not with the driver's controls.

Pressing the window locks button is also doing nothing according to techstream.

    The current DCT's I have are :

U1117 - Lost communication with accessory gateway in the Main Body system.

Under gateway system, I have two.

U0233 - Lost communication with Blind Spot Master Module
This is fine, I am missing both the master and slave blind spot modules. The bumper was trashed and I am looking for a new one from the wrecker.

U1002 - Lost communication with gateway module.

I also was able to test the light sensor for the automatic Headlights and the light sensor is working. For some reason, the headlights just don't turn on though. Super strange issues going on.

Hazards still don't work also. Got no headway there.

As I am not a technician, this is the issue o have with those manuals. I have no idea what connector it is referring to there. It's cool to read it on paper and know how to do the reset, but if you have no idea what connector they are talking about you are just shooting blind.

That's why I was asking where the connector was physically on the vehicle.

I bought this vehicle with no interior and the wiring and modules were all ripped out. Someone with mental illness owned it previously and destroyed everything.

I've never owned a Tacoma before, and so far I've got it 90% back together and I just have a few lingering bugs.

I didn't even have a push button start nor a key when I bought it and I've been able to do everything without having to take it you Toyota.

So I'm not a tech, but I've learned a lot and I feel I've done a pretty good job so far. But those tech schematics are greek to me without physically seeing where the modules or connectors are.

For example, 10 mins after seeing @caribe makaira 's post I was able to get the DTC code fixed on the smart key can system.

Oh awesome! Thanks I'll go check. I feel stupid for not looking at that.

I just got my low profile fuses from Amazon today. I'll go look thank you

Edit : I'm assuming that's for both rear windows? Nope, fuse was good. Replaced it anyways but no difference. The driver's side rear works on its own switch, but not the driver's.

The driver's rear doesn't work on its own switch nor on from the driver's panel

I did this already. Nothing. So it's something in the door.

I took the panel off and checked the connector, they seem ok.
I was going to break out the multimeter but I ran out of daylight.

It's going to be annoying to track down. I know it.

Lol, that makes no sense. Pointing to where a part is would still be teaching me to fix. You gave wayyyy more hand held info just none of it was what I was asking for.

Thanks for trying to help anyways.... I guess? Lol

Sorry, I showed you the wrong fuse for the passenger's side rear power window. The correct fuse is a a 30A (pink) that handles power to both the Passenger's window and the rear window on passenger's side.

    upload_2020-9-22_0-11-0.jpgupload_2020-9-22_0-11-43.jpg
The one on the left in the picture. It's located above the cab fuse panel...on the side.
But since the Passenger's window works, then the wire providing juice might of failed. It goes from the cab fuse panel (side) to connector IL3, which is behind the passenger's kick panel, then to connector BB1, which is behind the panel that divides front door to rear door. From there to the door switch.

I'm going to take a look in the B Pillar between passenger front and passenger rear doors and see if there is a disconnect.

It looks like the passenger rear door is getting no power, but I will confirm with a multimeter tonight as well.

Hopefully this is what's stopping the driver's controls from not working on either back door also. Would love to mark this one off my list and focus back on the auto headlights that have me completely baffled.

For the Auto headlights there is a sensor on the passenger's side dash, next to the tweeter. It might not be there...

No, the sensor is there and I already replaced with a new one before testing with Techstream. In the techstream data, I can see the light reading change when I cover the sensor with my hand. The sensor is getting voltage and sending it back to the system.

The Auto setting on the stick on the column does nothing though.

There is also a line for auto headlights and it's set to off. I think it may be a programming issue where it's disabled but I don't know enough on how to set it to ON to see if it will then work.

Hazard/Turn relay is integrated into the Combination Meter, it's not a separate item like prior Gens. (i.e. New Combo Meter)
