I am replacing UCAs, LCAs, UBJs and LBJs (OEM of course). I have everything off and only need to press off/on the UBJs. I've watched Tim the Toolman's tutorials on UBJ replacement. One he removes the knuckle and the other he doesn't. I searched on here but I couldn't find any write-ups. Any suggestions/tips/tricks on removing UBJs without removing the knuckles. I really don't want to deal with the removal...

Biggest thing to remember, is to remove the C Clip before you do any pressing.

Following BajaTacos instructions with the 3 jaw pulled is a little tricky, once you get the jaw pin centered the ubj presses right out. Patience.

If you're already doing that job and replacing all the ball joints, it's so easy to just remove the knuckle. Remove the caliper and hang it from a wire, and pop the CV out. Then you can put the knuckle in your vise and use a C-Clamp type press, or use a hydraulic press.

I've done both on the truck and off. Here was my procedure when I did one each way, with a few photos: Bye Bye Toytec, New UCA’s and ADS Shocks in the Front – ADVENTURETACO
