When I first purchased my suspension lift. I had the UCA installed at the same time. I recently bought new UCAs from JD Fab and noticed while uninstalling the old UCAs that bolt was installed backwards. I am now trying to remove that bolt but do not seem to have the clearance. Looking for input for you guys on what to try next.IMG_0917.jpg IMG_0918.jpg

I installed them like that when I got UCAs to avoid bending the inner fender. Take your time to play with those lines that are impeding the bolt from coming out but it does work. Just need some patience lol

Took me a couple mins to figure it out when did mines but I really dint want to bend any metal

Only 2 ways. Cut and replace the bolt or bend and hammer the pinch weld

I believe the Toyota installed them head fwd/ nut aft for a reason. If the nut were ever to come loose and fall off the bolt would still be in place due to gravity.

Get a replacement bolt and cut that one or start bending shit to make room for removal.

Yes same principle applies on aircraft components. Put the head fwd bend the pinch weld a bit.

cut em, buy new bolts, install forward. I had to bend the metal fender a bit but it went back into place no biggies, I think battery removal on driver side helped to when installing/removing.

Toyota installed mine with the head towards the rear, just as shown in the OP’s picture. I had the same problems he is having and I cut one of mine out. However, what you said makes sense and I never could figure out why Toyota installed them backwards.

so I heard or remember, the frames are assembled first upside down before being flipped and mated to the body during production.

Maybe someday I’ll get to Mexico (or wherever they are assembled) and take a tour if they are available and see how these trucks are assembled.

Just unclip those fuel lines from their plastic holders and move them out of the way :notsure: It's what I did.
