    Hey everyone,

I was taking my UCAs off to put some Freedom Offroads on for my 2.5 lift. I got the nut off of the bolt that holds the UCA an absolutely pounded on it and it would not budge. Has anyone had this problem? Tips? Someone save me from taking a torch to the whole thing

I’ll assume the suspension is unloaded?

Unloaded as the Uca is disconnected also from the steering knuckle. So there is zero pressure on the bolt. Being in the north could have some corrosion build up.

I am able to move the arm up and down freely so there isn’t really any pressure on it. I can’t wrap my head around it.

Soak it with liquid wrench over night, then use the fire wrench in the morning.

Quality impact gun. Just did this today on a Land Rover. While the LCA bolts and axle nuts were completely unmovable by hand, a few seconds at 1200ft/lbs break away torque pulled them free like butter. If you don't have air tools I highly recommend this cordless one, which is what I use: Dewalt 20v Max XR. Just be careful what you use it on, it sheared my OEM wheel lock key in half.

Edit: disregard, I misread as LCA.

They can be stubborn at times especially as the truck gets older. I encounter this problems on older 4runners and tacomas. Spray some wd40, let it sit, and pound the spindle on different sides to loosen it. Works everytime.

Thanks to everyone for the advice. I let it soak in freeze off over night and will try this evening to get it out. To clear up some confusion, the UCA can move freely up and down, the nut is off of the bolt that goes through the strut tower (I have it on the end of the threads to pound it through), and the bolt itself will not spin freely. Hence, I think it’s bent inside the strut tower making it not pound up through.

You live in PA. Considering that and the design, it's more likely corrosion than bent bolt. A bent bolt would still rotate.
