I recently installed ome struts and 884 coils and after a few weeks it is right at 3in lift, I need upper control arms for alignment but something else I noticed is I only have about 1 or 2 inches of down travel, so when I hit big drops on bridges and such it makes a big bang I believe the down travel is bottoming out on the upper ball joints, and info or suggestions?

Most uniballs offer good articulation. I know JBA has a ball joint UCA that is supposed to have more down travel that the TC uniball. You could also be experiencing the UCA hitting the new coils with the lift height.

Its my understanding that LR ucas give better articulation than uniballs

    From wheelers website

    Get more droop travel
: Light Racing’s arm has improved clearance to get around the spring bucket. With 80° of articulation in the upgraded ball joint and free pivoting bushings, Light Racing’s arm gives you maximum droop travel.

From another thread, i searched uniball articulation
It depends on what you want OP. the ball joints of the lightracing UCA's will require less maintenance and have MORE ARTICULATION than a uniball setup.

Yes, you heard that right. I have not seen a uniball with miss-alignment spacers capable of more than ~ 72* of articulation, most are down around the 60-65* mark. The SPC lightracing uca ball joint is capable of doing 82*

If you are looking for maximum strength then uniball is the way to go. But if you are like me, and want low maintenance, more adjustability, more potential articulation, and dont beat the eff out of my truck, SPC was the way to go.

yeah I want simple maintenance. I don't plan on high speed offroad just need alignment, and fix wondering on highway, and it would be nice to get more then an inch of down travel

The response above was cut and pasted from another thread so the OP part wasn't directed at you, just an excerpt from another post on TW. I believe the LR ucas have some advantages as to alignment as well. I have them and I am happy with them , it's my second set and they never broke or fell out of alignment or anything. Plus they save afew hunderd dollars too. They have a zerk fitting that allows for easy lubrication.
