Going to be ordering my OME lift within the next couple of weeks but can't decide on which UCA to get. I know lots of people like the LR but at the same time have heard good things about the camburgs.
What are the pros to each one?

What don't you like about each?

Is there any other brand out there I am missing. I

I've seen failures on both with a weak design in the bushing sleeve. Go with total chaos.

I'm not looking at the uniballs. I don't race my truck and don't plan on going LT. It is 80 city 20 off road. I'm looking at trying to keep my costs down thats why I'm looking at ball joint uca's.

Uniballs are not only for racing and long travel has nothing to do with it either. Buy what you feel is best for you.

I would say the LR to save a buck. I ran mine for 4 years before changing to the Camburg uniball to accommodate the spindle gussets I installed. I did however notice when I removed my Light Racing UCA's that all the bushings were shot as well as one of the ball joints. I tried the TC ones and they did not allow for full droop on my set up. The larger Camburg uniball did.

Sorry I'm new to all this stuff. That's why I asked about the UCA. I thought the higher grade UCA were for the higher grade lifts. If I had the money to throw it I would buy the better UCA now that know what you have said. I'm just trying to do the lift and UCA all at once.

One's not "better" than the other. They just have slightly different optimal uses.

Light Racing is more adjustable. It'll be (arguably) easier to get the alignment you want if you can work with your alignment tech. (Many of them are just confused by the additional options) Light racing has the ball joint. That's quiet and reliable and worry free. But ultimately not as strong. It's relatively easy to swap out the LR ball joints after they ultimately wear out.

Total Chaos (And Camburg. And Icon) have the uniball. It's more durable and less likely to fail under very hard off road usage. However, it's not maintenance free. It'll squeek at best and fail at worst if you don't keep it reasonably clean and lubed - especially if you drive in a place where they salt the roads in winter.

The unibal design may give you more droop if you're planning on going 'mid travel' with extended length shock. I don't know of anyone who's measured the ultimate droop on the light racing control arms.

Just curious.. what failures have you dealt with specifically with the Camburg Uniball UCAs?

I would suggest you check out the Camburg Balljoint UCAs. They are half the price of the uniball, and seeing that you live in Canada, these would be a better route for the harsh road conditions. We also offer a balljoint cover to seal the top of balljoint and keep it cleaner. We build all our arms in house, with all US materials. No cheap products from China. We also offer a TW discount or you can purchase from any of our dealers. Let me know if you have any questions regarding the UCAs :)

I was running the Camburg Ball-Joint UCAs on my FJ in New England with zero issues. One thing I will say is that their UCA covers fell off on both UCAs. I installed using their instructions.

Local member measured his, it was about 3-4" of droop from the wheel's stock height.
Seen one in the LT bs thread, as well as a few LR and all pros. I think 'username' posted them up. I will try to scour and find them.
