Going to be putting in 6112/5160 combo with RXT leaf pack. Shooting for 2” in front. Goals are just have a more capable truck for some forest roads and moderate trails for campsites. I’m running 265/75 16 on stock OR wheels. I don’t plan on upsizing tires or changing wheels now but possibly in future. Should I wait till then? I’ve read that I can get away without UCAs for 2” or less but in my case would I get a worthwhile benefit?

2-2.5 inch lift with Bilstein 6112/5160s included in the wheelers trail pro lift kit. And 255/85r16 Yokohama Geolander G003 tires.
I did the exact setup, except for different leaf packs and I did SPC ucas. It helps with alignmnets.

2" from my research is a point where an aftermarket UCA is not always needed. When I started gathering up everything for my lift, UCA's weren't part of my list originally. I have since changed my mind and decided that since I am in there, I will swap in a set. Do I need them... most likely not. More a piece of mind thing for me. Do you need them... at 2"... most likely not.

That’s exactly what’s happening to me lol. Would you prioritize bumps stops over ucas?

I have not even put bumpstops into consideration. I will run what I have and evaluate then.

I went that high on my FJ without UCAs, went 2” on the Taco with them. It kinda depends……but I say get em if you can afford it. You’ll get a better alignment and ride.

Just did 6112's in the front on our new 22' and you don't need UCA's, we also have a 17' with SPC UCA's and at 2.5" lift and we needed them.

    Not required.
2" of lift you should be able to get you Camber and Caster fairly good.

Stock UCAs should work just fine.

My suspension shop said you probably don't "need" them but I figured I might as well instead of wishing I had.

I have Camburg with the ball joints on the current taco.

SPC's are great if you know a good alignment tech or enjoy wrenching on your truck. You can't just make an appointment for an alignment anywhere and expect them to tinker with the SPC UCA's for 89.95. To even index the ball joint to a different position means a lot of prior disassembly. There are some great starting points for reference and if you have the patience and know how SPC will get you the best numbers and ride.

If you go uniball UCA's, remember they require maintenance and sacrifice some on road comfort for off road articulation.

That was for 2nd gens. 3rd gens are 1" higher from the factory on the same suspension, so 2" lift on 3rd gen is like a 3" lift for 2nd gens. Without UCAs, your caster will be close to zero, losing most of the self-centering behavior in the steering. Suggest you get UCAs so you don't need to pay for alignment twice. Get two new UCA hinge bolts while you're at it, so you aren't butchering your inner fender.

Every inch of rake reduces caster by about half a degree, so your front caster angle actually depends a bit on which RXT leaf pack config you choose and your expected loadout.

SPC because they were the best bang for the buck!
I don't recommend any UCA that add Caster.
You can read the links in my sig to find out why.
    Good Luck!

Well it's the best information I can provide. Based on my personal experience. (Not what I've read) So much misconception out there.
