    * SCRATCH THE TRD SUPERCHARGER! IT IS NO LONGER AN OPTION. THANKS.

Help me decide on my next big purchase. I'm trying to decide between the URD Ucon flex engine management system or regearing to 4.56 with a limited slip differential. I hardly go off roading but do on occasion. Please take into consideration gas mileage, power, and price. I know these are all different kind of setups but I think they would all achieve what I am looking for. I do mostly city driving. I really want to do one of these but not too sure which is the best bang for my buck. Thanks in advance.

power mainly, gas mileage is a plus and inexpesiveness. None of these mods are for off raoding, they are all for the purpose of city and highway driving. I really like driving stick and feeling the power when I want it. Hopefully that clears it up a little

well I don't think any of those will increase your MPG...

Go big or go home then... go for the S/C... not sure what benefit the UCON is on a NA engine without any other modifications...

Gears will get you off the line quicker, but lower your top seed...

Mainly looking for a better city/highway driving experience.

I already have intake, headers, exhaust, tsb (I know, I know, it's useless) and a jet maf chip.

Anyone have a Ucon Flex by URD in their truck that can tell me about it?

I'm pretty sure that I read on here that Bully Dog now makes a tuner for the Tacoma. Seems like people were getting pretty good results on a NA engine.

Thank you. I looked into it and it really doesn't compare to the Ucon Flex. It also is made for only the year after my Tacoma. I appreciate you pointing it out to me though.

Scratch the TRD supercharger. It's too expensive for me right now. I believe the other 2 options are around the same price range. What are your thoughts?

Iirc the K&N intake robbed a few people of HP on a dyno... Or maybe it was just the K&N filter.

Are the headers short or long tubes?

    What size exhaust?

Sometimes the wrong combo can alter ur tq curve in an ugly way, and some headers may cause a loss of tq while others retain or increase it. Its kinda scary but it happens.

How close are u financially to buying the blower?
Its really gunna open new doors for you and ur truck if u can swing it. I know there's the whole "I need something now to keep me busy/give me something to wrench on". Feeling but if ur close, and can wait a lil longer, it may be worth the wait for ya.

    Just my pennies there

Been in ur shoes so to speak.

I'm no where near getting the SC.

I don't really like the intake and tsb, but I got them used for cheap. I'm running a Spectre filter but K&N intake tubing.
    I'm running JBA short headers.
    I'm running a Gibson catback exhaust, I believe it's 2.5" tubing.

    Wtf is a TSB?

Do u have a scangauge or ultragauge to read your intake air temps by chance?

So withe the shorties I assume by had to weld the cats in like thorley short headers? How do u like them?

Good job on the exhaust...... 2.5 is plenty for N/A on our trucks imho. U should still have a nice amount of tq down low.

Is the specter filter oiled or dry?
If oiled just make sure not to over oil it, and I'd suggest cleaning the maf sensor and throttle body more often, especially if u get any strange idle problems.

When's the last time u took a look at the throttle body and cleaned the maf sensor?

Wait.... U typed tsb...... Did u mean TBS by chance?

Yeah I'm guessing throttle body spacer also.

I don't have a scanguage. I did have to weld the headers and I really like them, I just have to hit higher rpm's to really feel them. My filter is oiled but is so cheap that I just buy new ones all the time. I replaced my maf sensor with a jet chip maf sensor about 6 months ago.

So, you think a Ucon Flex and regearing with an LSD is garbage?

I guess another man's trash is another man's treasure.

No I was referring to throwing away your oil air filters and buying a garbage aftermarket mag sensor.

So what do you recommend? I still have my stock maf sensor and I was thinking of getting an actual K&N filter for the intake and taking off the TSB. I'm open to opinions.
