I'm in Naples now, but grew up in Fairport. Went to high school at McQuaid Jesuit. Naples is 50min. south of Rochester, Bath is right nearby!

My wifes from Long Island, and we go back twice a year to visit her dad. About five years ago I convinced her to drive with me to Rochester to see my old house. She thought I said New Rochelle. We drove many hours in a blizzard in a Hyundai sedan to get there:eek: I've been out in Cali for a while, and I had never driven in the snow before:rofl: Good times. I think I slept on the floor that night in the motel we were forced to stay at due to the weather.

Thanks! I would like to go with rims and the proper backspacing, but right now it's all I can afford!

The sport rims are my favourite. Makes it look clean stock, but very nice

What I'd reallly like to do it paint the stockers black and mount 255 85's on them. Have them studded and keep them as winter only tires, then mount the 285's on new rims for summer. For right now though, I will still go with painting the stock rims black and save up for rims later. Still, sliders and skids are important. I'd also like to see an ARB locker soooner than later. Some much stuff...and no cash.

    Thanks man!

I try to be anal when spraying off the undercarriage. I probably spend more time spraying off underneath than I do on the body. So far no major rust, just a couple "spots". Salty winter roads bring the suck to vehicles around here! She looks pretty good for 127,000mi.

I'm not a patient person, but I'm going to try this claybar thing followed by a coat of wax. I may just go panel by panel, day by day. Man, I'm almost dreading it, but I think it needs to be done.

I'm also considering bedlining the rockers and painting the flares black. :notsure: Lots of payments left and I don't want to be driving a rust bucket when it's finally paid for.

Not again, babbling on and on.

Today I spent 6 hours doing the claybar thing. Started with a wash with Mother's Carnuba wash. Then claybarred using Mother's detailing kit. Next was the Mother's cleaner wax and finally Meguiars Ultimate Liquid Wax. The shine is awesome. It's a mirror-like reflection.

I also claybarred and waxed the windows. Then cleaned the interior windows and did a quick Armor All too. All that is left is to vacuum the interior and to spray out the bed.

I'll do my best to do this again for the winter. I also gotta do the Leer cap before that goes back on for the winter.

    PICS!:yay:

    You can claybar windows? Hmm...

Might have to give that a go.

I thought for a second when looking at that first picture that you got a flippac and I was like wtf haha. Looking good.

    Thanks you guys!

Max, what's a flippac? As far as claybarring the windshield goes, I actually read about it in the "Is it just me..." thread, I think. I don't know if waxing the windshield will last any longer than Rain-X, but we'll see.

Thanks again for the kudos you guys!!

I see!:D Nope, all I got is a cheapie cargo box ratchet strapped in place. No cash for the real thing, but it has my MV-50 and recovery gear, and a couple of floor mats to kneel on in the mud, snow, rain...!

Nothing new and exciting, but I cleaned my MAF, Throttle Body and cleaned and oiled 2 K&N filters. I keep one in the box so the next time it's just a quick switch-a-roo!:D I also Seafoamed the fuel system on the last fill-up. Hopefully this'll get me an extra mpg?

Hey Hanz, thanks for the thoughts. This is my first time back to my own build.

I re-installed the cap for camping in the rain over Labor Day weekend. It appears that I lost exactly 1 mpg. I think I'm leaving it on for the winter unless I need to haul with the open bed. I've been averaging just under 17mpg all summer, now I'm just under 16 with the cap on. Oh well.

Just to pic whore it, here's some pics!

This coming Saturday she goes in for the last free oil change at the dealership, then it's all up to me.

I did pic up an amp and some Alpine speakers. I'll get them in one of these days too. I'm still trying to decide if I want to lose the 6-disc capability by going to a new head unit.
