    just wait....
I refuse to respect GSP because he simply can not finish a fight...he has the talent but lacks the killer instinct. Very disappointing...so much potential, but what a pathetic showing of a "champion".

If you were number one in the world, you wouldn't want to lose right?

I think it would be pretty tough to win a fight against the top contender if you only could see out of one eye for 3.5 rounds right?

The only thing pathetic here is Jake Shields being a little bitch and not trying to win. He barely even shot in for a takedown. Was his gameplan to outstrike GSP? It sure looked like it, and it was fucking retarded.

Call it what you want, GSP fought for 3.5 round with ONE EYE, and still won.

This is a niave comment. Have you even seen all of GSP's fights?

GSP vs. Sheilds was lack luster for sure, but GSP was definitely going for the kill, Jake was not letting that happen. That overhand right is what Henderson knocked down Shields with... and GSP was throwing them as bombs, fantastic gameplan right there. Sheilds eventually caught on to them and was blocking them well... until GSP changed it up and connects with a fast spinning back kick. Those looked powerful.

Overall, GSP isn't a finisher, but he absolutely deserves respect for being an undisputed champ. He comes to win, and does so in one of the classiest manners in the sport. I've also said it before, but the Silva vs. GSP fight is pointless. GSP's next fight should be a welterweight fight against Diaz, if that will contractually be possible. If (when) he beats Diaz, I think the world welterweight MMA pool will be cleaned out for now. It'll probably be a few years before there are relavent up and comers.

Shame for Randy, but dam, the Crane kick was awesome! Machida is a fantastic fighter & another super classy guy. I'm happy for him. I'm glad Randy called it quits (in the most respectful way). He will remain legend and a huge part of why MMA is what it is today.

The Diaz/MacDonald fight was fantastic. Those slams were amazing.

I was a little dissapointed that Aldo wasn't as wirery as I expected, but man that ended up being a good one. Huge props to Mark for being such a warrior.

Don't get me wrong, GSP is a phenominal fighter and I definately respect his talents, but I don't think he can be considered the best pound for pound fighter in the world. He has good game plans and he wins but I honestly believe he has the potential to tear people apart but looks for the safe win.

The prelims also had a lot of great fights. It was nice to have all but one shown. Great knockouts all around. Poor Kyle and Randy...

So, maybe Shields v. GSP 2? GSP did it with one eye but it just seemed that Shields wasn't up to it.

Nothing is like UFC on HD. As stated in Cagepotatoe, I also was waiting for quatto to bust out of Hominick's noggin.

Yes, Aldo was not prepared properly for a five round fight. Hominek's conditiioning is what kept him in that fight.

That fight is guaranteed - everybody wants to see it! Shields may not have done much in the first three rounds but he sure as hell beat up GSP's face real good in the last two. I can just see him in the locker room afterwards:

GSP: "ouchie ... my nose has a boo boo"
Phil Nurse: "stay gold .. we have your wooby in the limo"

edit: I really shouldn't be talking smack about GSP after he sealed yet another 'Franklin' from my roommate :quickdraw:

Close your left eye completely. Now stand is a boxing stance with y our left hand forward and your body turned a little right. Now have someone try to punch your face in for 15 minutes. See how long your last. GSP is the fucking man.

But don't take my word for it, take Greg Jacksons, the best game planner in the MMA game.
