I don't have to worry about emissions as much here but I know its tough to get it done. I actually cannot find one for under 3k anywhere. Im going to look at an LQ9 tomorrow. Its gonna suck trying to get it in there but Im on a serious time crunch. Pulled motor today. Kinda upsetting but fuck it.

It’s tight but it looks like my brake booster is actually gonna be the biggest issue. Have to relocate the coil packs. Beat the firewall in a little and I should get another 2-3 inches back from this pic. Prob have to shim the condenser forward also to fit radiator and an electric fan. Gotta get an alt relocation bracket also.

Once I get a low LS intake I can keep the height where it is I think.

UPDATE- IF YOU DO AN LS SWAP GET A LONG BLOCK AND A 4L80 TRANS. DON'T BUT A COMPLETE CAUSE NOTHING WILL WORK... PERIOD. YOU CAN USE ALTERNATOR AND COMPRESSOR/COMPRESSOR BRACKET BUT COMPRESSOR IS PROB JUNK ANYWAY.

absolutely love the build, some good tech and fab in here like old pirate4x4 days. I did a front half and back half frame sections on my last jeep build, really helped with up travel and keeping it low. You are building what I want my next build to be. 1 ton street-legal 4dr taco with LS. Making me miss my last rig a 1 ton JK that would go down the freeway.

Yeah the frame notch def seems to keep them lower. I didn’t know Jeep’s did that too. I haven’t even started my links cause of this motor switch at the last min. But, yeah a totally drivable truck is the goal.

Yeah, gotta start putting shit back together instead of taking more apart. The motor location is actually a lot easier than I thought. It’s been in and out 3 times and I think it’s good.

Thanks man. I haven’t even really looked at them. Put in house and went back to shop. They are diff which is cool. I like ‘em.

Looks like the exhaust is gonna be the biggest issue. May have to cross over to pass side to stay away from upper link. Which means I need a tig welder. Fun but more money.

Completely ruined the paint on firewall tunnel. Had to push it in about 2” deep and about 8” towards back of truck. Otherwise, this is how it will sit. May get 1/2 back at most. Pan is 1” lower than the 3.4 but they make a million pans for these things so I’ll get a slim one.

Obviously this intake is out! Way too high!

One of those sweet blower hoods! Yep!

2 more pics and I’m done. Just to see the height I got compared to kit. That’s the intake I have to get too.

I thought my garage was low, that takes the cake. I'd be a hunchback if I had to spend much time in that. I just gotta duck around a vent duct in mine. I'm 6'4".

Lol! It's just a walkout basement. Its 6' in most places but my head rubs so I do hunch a little. It kinda sucks but it gets the job done. I just wear sandals when Im in there to stay real low. haha

I had those tires, really nice on the road. However, watch your sidewalls because I cut one very easily.

I've had a buggy, truggy, the YJ v8 swapped not street legal and that JK. Having something I can drive around and to the hunting property was so nice and I'll probably never go back to anything offroad only trailering all the time. Just got old seeing stuff sit. Gonna follow this project.

Whats the plan for T case and Trans now?

Hate to say it, but all tires have weak sidewall. I managed to puncture maxxis and irok on rock and bfg on branches. My buddy's toyo sidewall blew on the highway... my brother's GY with Kevlar sidewall blew after 3 trip. haha.
