All tire's weakness is when you deflate them down for offroad use, this ultimately leads them to damage. The tire is designed to be fully inflated which adds rigidity to the sidewall.

Same concept applies to the gardening hose.

Yeah run a super swamper SX and get back to me on sidewall strength, those things are tanks. My old pitbull rockers were the worst I've ever seen they ruined quite a few trips where swampers had 0 issues

Nice! Those 14” fox coils? I agree. Not trying to have to have a special truck to pull my special truck at this point.

I have an np261 that came in the Silverado that I’m gonna put on now and hope that I can make the driveshaft work with an atlas later. I don’t have the time to wait or the cash to blow on an atlas right now.

Atlas is worth the money, toyota cases will be a easy failure point with a v8, tons and 40s. I beat my atlas for years and it's still being beat by the new owner today. was probably in my YJ over 14 years with a built 302 Ford

Yeah they were Accutune Fox CO's, really nice and easy to adjust. Ran currie antiroc swaybars and they were fantastic both on and offroad.

Maybe consider throwing in a dana 300 or a np205? dana 300 is so similar you could probably run the same adapter and driveshafts because the atlas II is based off the 300

I cant run any Toyota case but a land cruiser w the 4l80. Prob wouldn’t anyway. The np 261 hd came on a Silverado so it will work for now. It’s only a 2.27 but will have more power now.

I have the 4l80. It’s a 2wd but it’s full spline so gonna cut it down and get an extension housing for it.

Nice!, doing it right from the start is important. I've skipped on stuff and spent way more coming back to replace things I was unhappy with. 4l80's are beasts, you can sometimes score great deals on 4x4 ones. the 2wd are in demand for street truck builds

here is the last one I did a ground-up build on. Glad I didn't cut corners on it. Took longer though. Will definitely be watching this build! Look forward to watching your progress

1991 mustang 5.0 but only the block was stock. Bored, heads cam intake injectors etc. I mean a 5.3 with cam and tune would have been very similar. Hard to beat the LS platform

Im not huge on jeeps but I like that one. Yeah, I gotta say...I got the LS and got my usual plastic parts container with top and I had to take intake off. I took the whole shit off with throttle body and all I had to do was undo 2 hose clamps and like 10-12 8 or10 mm bolts and they stayed with the intake. It came all off in like 2 min and I had no bolts whatsoever and it weighed about 2 pounds! I was like damn, these americans may be onto something here!

Did some maintenance with the limited time I had. It’s ready to clean up now.

Did rear seal and gasket. Forgot to take pic but put this aluminum oil diverter in. I guess the oem ones cause oil pressure issues according to drift guys.

These motors are so easy to take apart it’s comical.

Wire brushed trans and motor. Did all motor seals and gaskets and put It back in truck. Gonna do mounts tomorrow.

Did a little mock up and it’s looking like with the current pan I will get 2” of static uptravel on pass side before trac (estimating 26” high on pass side) hits pan starting with the axles being flat and not taking into effect the vehicle moving to the driver side as it raises on pass. Idk if that will turn that into 5 or not. That’s at 23.5 frame height also which gives me some room if need be. New pan will get me another 1”.

Bottom of crank is currently 30.25” from the ground which will be same height as the new pan.

Highly recommend doing an accusump oil accumulator to keep the motor from starving for oil off camber. All my Ls swapped crawler buddies are running them to keep oil pressure up off camber
