I’m gonna have to go back and look at your hoops. If DOM wasn’t so damn expensive I would just do an offset bend but I’ll 100% for sure fuck that up 1 or 2 times before getting it right.

My towers are 90 degrees to the bottom shock mount which isn’t ideal but only way I could clear the booster.

This was prob a blessing in disguise. I’m scrapping the booster. Gonna get this thing or another so makes a hydraulic one. Cheaper prob then a new t-100 or 4Runner setup and I need a prop valve anyway. Just confirming the pedal ratio is same as Supra and IS.

I doubt you’ll be able to move enough fluid volume at a high enough pressure for SD brakes with that master. I’d honestly look into running hydroboost. Easy to do with a TC style pump and a PSC reservoir.

They claim it powers big ass been on race brakes. You think the weight is gonna negate that?

I was looking at the hydro post but didn’t see one that would work for a Toyota setup. Do you know of one by chance?

Race brakes are a whole different ballgame from a 5500 lb truck and brakes. Race guys are okay with big pedal force for threshold braking and race calipers don’t normally have huge cylinders in the caliper like SD brakes and require a lot of fluid volume.

I’ve never researched it for a Tacoma but I’m sure you can make GM or Ford stuff link to the pedal one way or another.

I think I got it figured out. Gonna get a wilwood pedal w slave cylinder reservoir and remote mount hydro boost and master cylinder w a line and a slave cylinder to actuate brakes. Shouldn’t be that big of a deal and prob only like $500

I love your build thread! Thank you for documenting with lots of pics and going back and editing your mistakes. I'm pretty much gonna follow what you do to a T, minus the V8, I'm not that high roller

As far as braking, my neighbor has a 1 ton Jeep and I remember him telling me hes running a brake booster from an Astro Van (I'll verify with him) cause it came with Hydro boost from the factory. I also think the 96-04 Mustang GT's came with Hydro Boost braking. Might work in your case too?

Edit: verified with him, it is from an Astro Van. He combined that with a PSC pump and it powers his hydro assist steering and hydro assist brakes. He says he has no issues stopping and it's been super reliable. He's on 42's with a Kingpin Dana 60 and a 14 Bolt rear, disc brakes all around.

Thanks for the info. I did see that several chevys had hydro. Land cruiser as well. I’m going to have to measure one to see if the size is smaller than a booster. They look huge.

Got a little cavalier dropping the trans pan and didn’t realize it weighed like 20lbs. Sprayed about 2qts all over my nice clean axle that absorbs oil like a sponge, all my links and my tig torch. 2 for 2 in 2 days.

I'm gonna go check out my neighbors setup this weekend. I can take some pics and measurements.

That would be great man. The problem with the location of the booster mount is that no matter what you put there, the coil is slap in the way. Curious to see how it looks complete. A width and length from firewall would be awesome if you get around to it!

Found a use for the Chinese stainless that flakes chrome when you tig it. Got sick of wire brushing rust rings off frame.

Safety dork hat on - Make sure you weld that Chinese stainless with a fan sucking that shit away from you. Normal stainless is full of crazy shit you don't want to breathe, I can only imagine what Chinese shit stainless has in it besides the blood, tears and innocence of the kids working in the foundry. - safety dork hat off

I ran like 5-6 passes and on like 15amps it was burning through and flaking. Prob should have put the old mask on. I cut the piece I’m now using for beer off and got a refund. They told me to keep the 3’ section. It’s useless though since my main exhaust run is 3.5”.

Since my fav work is basically done my cough basically went away. I have one rear spring hanger to deal w but otherwise it’s just finish work thankfully.

Finally figured out the water pump that will give you the most space. Took about ten tries and multiple water pumps. Stupid fucking waste of time problem.

Best and only solution whether you have a 1-,-2, or -3 pulley setup for most clearance.

-2007 Corvette water pump from Gates with the shiny pulley (outlet is on pass side)
    - (1) 3/4” ICT Billet water pump spacer
    - (1) 1/2” ICt Billet water pump spacer.
