I’m sure. I think the open wheel wells will def help. But, yeah I found a shield for the crossover under the crank and compressor. Gonna add that too.

PS pump is TBD. Could prob ceramic coat that as well. They are pretty easy to take apart. Gonna put in good vents too.

I really didn’t want to start this project but I’m not happy with my engine tilting back at 9+ degrees cause it’s tipping up the front yoke. Gonna cut some shit out and get it good. Cage is prob gonna happen at this point but everyday I think about @Wulf saying perfect is the enemy of done.

This hvac system is so big for how small the Tacoma is.

Yeah, Ive been thinking about it all day and im just gonna fit engine tilt, wire what I have to and redo later. I think it is a stupid decision to start some major interior project this far in.

Moving around the axle is pretty miserable during a swap and few talk about it. I had to disassemble my FZJ80 rear in the bed of my truck I brought it home in because I had no hoist to lift it out! Those housings you have are as heavy as they get too

Yeah you don’t hear much about the steering gear either. Both are a nightmare. This one has to be stripped for the 520 lift to even raise it. Something like 800 lbs when I bought it as a complete.

I’m back to doing shit work and it sucks.

Cleaned up frame I wasn’t happy with. Took forever. Had to add a lot of material and watch the heat. Gonna add one or two more small plates then paint.

    252E3424-2C17-46C5-B211-3B0AE30B853A.jpg

And wrapped the collector. Sucked. Wrapping is prob one of my least fav things to do and it’s actually very hard to do by yourself. I think it turned out nice though.

Yeah, it’s super frustrating to get shit looking close then taking it all apart and going back to the beginning basically.

Been meaning to ask you but did you end up running your front brake line w upper link to firewall? I know you mentioned it but wanted to confirm that is the way to go.

I thought i finished the rear brake line months ago but found out they're too short. Took me 3 hrs to cut and prep my rear axle to redo the brake line bracket. Welded the new bracket on and realized the brake line is interfering with the breather line... Sh1t! Cut it off again and start over. Lol. Threw the towel after that.

I have issue with those d@mn metal ties breaking or coming loose over time. I now use hose clamp.

Yeah, I still haven't figured out exactly the best way to tighten them. I was actually gonna wrap the whole exhaust with 14g copper wire. I think it will look cool and it will dissipate some heat while keeping everything tied up good. This one was the hardest. Used almost 25ft of wrap on it. IDK HTF that was even possible!

Got the motor tilted up about 2 1/4 degrees. Prob about 2 inches at the case. Raised the entire motor up 1/4” and back 1/4-1/2” as well so I may have a bit more room.

Final weld on rear link mounts turned out nice on inside w that big ass gap.
